Results and resit

So when I got my GCSE results I got:

English Lang

Total - 73/160
Paper 1 - 41/80
Paper 2 - 32/80

Grade - 4


Math

Total - 149/240
Paper 1 - 46/80
Paper 2 - 50/80
Paper 3 - 53/80

Grade - 3

I was 8 marks off a grade 4 so my aunt (she used to be an exams officer) told my mum to pay to get it remarked to see if I could get anymore marks.

I don’t know weather to resit if not but I don’t know I could resit in November

@Rose113 hey, well done on ur results! honestly as cringe as this sounds the best things to do in these situations is to go with ur gut, do u think you'd feel confident to resit another maths paper? you'd have quite a bit time to do some work on ur weaker areas for example paper 1 being ur lowest mark of all 3 u could spend more time getting confident with paper 1 topics alternatively u did well on paper 3 so u could work on boosting ur stronger areas even more! alternatively, if ur mum is happy to pay for a remark it is definitely worth seeing if you've had marks missed as there's lots of cases where ppl have got a higher mark after remarks. Overall, the best thing to do is making sure whatever u end up doing is what U want to do and what u feel happy doing !

@Rose113 hey i've just looked online to see how much it costs and this may not be correct info so i'd double check! but it says resitting a paper that has been failed previously is free as long as it's a mandatory one (maths n english) !

@Sunshine12 is that to get it remarked or to resit, I think you have to pay to resit it to in my area sadly

oops my fault that was saying free for a resit or around £30 depending on ur school, and remarking is around £35 to £55 apparently!

When I resat my English in college - it was free to resit it in the Summer but if we wanted to resit it in November we had to pay however we got the cost refunded if we passed.

Also worth bearing in mind with remarking , the mark can also go down as well as not change/Go up. I think it might be quite difficult for them to find 8 marks to be honest , they usually recommend it if your 1 or 2 marks off the next grade boundary.
