June achievements, with a theme of health!

kaiikaii Posts: 543 Incredible Poster
Hi there! I hope everyone had a great June! :3

I’m here again to encourage you to celebrate your monthly wins and share them with the community! Your victories can take any form — they don’t have to be big, as long as you’re genuinely proud of them, that’s what matters.

And as always, free to write as many achievements as you wish! <3

My achievements this month:
- Finally finished placement and left knowing that I contributed a lot to the lab and did my very best
- Spoke to my placement supervisor to be transparent with the challenges I faced from a research project I took the lead in
- Programmed an EEG study in less than a week even though I had no experience with the software before
- Cleared up misunderstandings with my parents and was accepted that I made a mistake and apologised right away

As for this month’s theme, it was International Father’s Mental Health Day on the 21st June, and the main awareness topic this month was Men’s Health Month (https://menshealthmonth.org)!

So in relation to this month’s theme, what kind of things do you do to maintain good physical health?

For me, I quite like eating meals that include anti-inflammatory foods! I particularly like sweet potatoes! I also really like going out for walks early in the morning, it’s so peaceful when there’s not a lot of people around :3

Amazing job everyone for getting through another month! I hope everyone has a lovely July!

Kai

As always love this thread my and well done to everybody you’re all amazing and happy July. I can’t believe we’re in July now! Here’s some of mine
Taking a break from things when it it got difficult and prioritising my own physical and mental health
Starting the leaders of tomorrow program, which I’m taking part in all summer it’s really fun so far and I’m learning a lot
Starting some new projects as part of my social action
Finishing helping out a drama group that I’ve been helping out for two years.bittersweet
Speaking to my disability officer for starting back at university in September, which is a big worry for me

I hope everybody has a great July <3

@lunarcat522, I’m really glad that you had a good time at the bar despite it not being a place you’d usually go to! It must be a lovely feeling to finally cross paths with someone you’ve seen in your course often as well, I’ve also had that happen to me and found it nice :3 and really well done for eating within the hospital environment! I definitely wouldn’t find this easy, and it’s great to hear that your rheumatology appointment was okay. It’s always relieving when some things turn out to be better than expected

@amy02, omg best of luck with your masters dissertation! I’m glad that you’re getting there with your writing deadlines! And great job for making plans with friends! I wish that I was much better at doing this - I’m so grateful for my friends organising dates and plans for me ahahah.

And yes, there’s nothing that beats getting some fresh air outside! Spring and summer really are the best times for this <3

@eylah, I’m so so proud of you for going to the doctors by yourself despite being in pain and that you’ve been trying to eat each day! It’s really easy to neglect our daily needs and self-care since life is so chaotic, so really well done and I hope you’re doing okay, please don’t push yourself too hard <3

@ebyrne556, it’s really brave of you to acknowledge that you needed a break for the sake of your physical and mental wellbeing, I’m so proud of you for that! It’s great that you’ve been finding the leaders of tomorrow program really fun so far! Best of luck with your new projects as part of your social action, it’s absolutely amazing that you’re getting involved! And congratulations for finally finishing helping out at a drama group! I’m happy that you were able to talk to your disability officer about going back to uni in September - I hope you found this helpful!

Incredible achievements everyone! As always, I’m so so proud of you and I hope you all have a lovely July
