Hi everyone,

We have another research opportunity for you all to take part in. Please see the details below :)
What is this project about?
This research project is done as part of a MSc Dissertation project at UCL. We are interested in exploring the experiences of young adults during assessments within mental health services. Currently, there is very little data on young people’s experiences undergoing mental health assessments and we are aiming to change that in the hopes it might improve assessment experiences and quality in the future. Data will be collected via up to one hour long, one-to-one interviews. Interviews will primarily be held remote over Microsoft Teams. However, however alternatives will be considered based on your preferences and researcher availability.

We are recruiting young adults between the ages of 18 and 26 who have experienced assessment within a mental health service in the UK in the last 18 months.

As a thank you, every participant will receive a £20 shopping e-voucher to compensate you for your time.
How can I participate?
If you are interested in participating in this project, please reach out via email by contacting the primary researcher through the email below. Once you have voiced your interest, you will receive a response email, asking for your name, age, gender, and time since assessment.

Additionally, we are also really interested in hearing from people who might come from a marginalised ethnic background or sexual orientation, so we will be asking about your identity as well. However, the latter information is not mandatory to partake in this study and you do NOT have to share anything you feel uncomfortable with.

If you would like to register your interest in taking part in this study or have any further questions regarding this project, please contact us by sending an email to the primary researcher:

Thank you for considering taking part in this research study!
Maybe somethings don't get better, but we do. We get stronger. We learn to live with our situations as messy and ugly as they are. We fix what we can and we adapt to what we can't. Maybe some of us will never fully be okay, but at least we're here. We're still trying. We're doing the best we can. That's worth celebrating too ❤
