What type of things that you will do to calm yourself?

For me, I will listen to lofi music to calm and focus on things...what about you guys?

You don't have to tell your problems (conditions) if you don't want to, but I have anxiety, so I use music to calm myself down :)

Hey @AliceL it's lovely to have you join the boards! <3

Just hopping in to say I've moved your post to the Health & Wellbeing forum so others can chip in with their thoughts & advice. :)

Also I agree lofi music can be so calming - I often put it on whilst studying! For me, I also love taking a nature break to ground myself.

Hey @AliceL I also tend to listen to music and I find it helps me. I also watch a lot of Youtube videos too mostly ones of cake or cooking as I find watching someone cook can be therapuetic to me. I also knit and crochet too!.
Just a person who likes pop culture and films

Great discussion idea @AliceL! Music and going for walks are a great way for me to calm myself down. Music helps to feel emotions, and walks helps to give some much-needed headspace :)

@AliceL, welcome to the community!<3

This is such a lovely thread idea! Music also calms me down - I quite like listening to soft piano sounds, and music from games (I love listening to Apotos Day and Spagonia Night from the Sonic Unleashed game ahah)! I also like to journal a lot, just writing down how I'm feeling takes the weight of my chest and helps me calm down :3

I try using the 54321 technique. Identify 5 things you can see. 4 things you can feel/touch. 3 things you can hear. 2 things you can smell. And finally 1 thing you can taste. It works in some situations, but sometimes it does not, but it can still be helpful

I love listening to lo-fi too!
I think I’m in the same vein as you, listening to loads of relaxing sounds like ambient or even shoegaze type of music. I love listening to film soundtracks as well.
Other ways I calm myself down with is going on walks, journaling how I feel, even if what I write doesn’t make sense. I just write things that allow me to release whatever tension there is, and I love watching my old childhood films/ series :)
Anything really that is related to my childhood, even games on my DS or laptop.

Hey, welcome to The Mix. :) Like others have said listening to music on YouTube, and I also like listening to relaxing sounds, so such as a crackling fire or the waves crashing into the sand at a beach. :)

Occasionally, I might reach for a cup of chamomile tea, as it has ingredients in it that help you relax. Also if you have any pets, then stroking them and cuddling them can help you feel happier too. :3
