The Mix Connect: Make a difference to a school or college in your area!

Heya Mixers!

Over the past year we’ve been developing our wellbeing support programme for secondary schools and colleges across the UK, called The Mix Connect. We wanted to use this space to tell you a bit more about it and how it works.

The Mix Connect provides students in secondary schools and colleges with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to address mental health issues effectively within their communities. Here is a video which explains TMC in more depth:

TMC also comes with a Mix created Ambassador Programme which offers a platform for passionate young people to amplify their voices and champion causes that matter to them. Ambassadors can support peers in navigating the services, advice, and information available through The Mix Connect and play a vital role in raising awareness of mental health and the support available to young people across the UK.

We’re so excited about working with schools to support more young people across the country and we really need your help to spread the word. So, what else can you do?

1. Share with Your Networks: Spread the word about the Mix Connect within your community, whether through social media, local groups, or personal networks. Your endorsement and support can significantly impact its visibility and adoption. You can also share our Mix Connect leaflets (attached to the post above), YouTube videos, or website.
   
2. Engage with Schools and local authorities: Connect us with schools or educational institutions that could benefit from the Mix Connect program. Your personal introduction can facilitate the implementation of this vital support.
   
3. Share contact details for staff members in or associated with schools or colleges. Feel free to share our email address: tmc@themix.org.uk
   
4. Advocate and Support: Advocate for the importance of mental health and wellbeing in schools. Your voice matters, and your advocacy can encourage more schools to prioritise the wellbeing of their students.
