🎞️ Join us for a winter themed movie night

AoifeAoife Community Manager Posts: 3,228 Boards Guru
Do you love films?

We have some exciting news...we're going to be running a winter themed movie night later this week!

How it will work is we'll share a free code with you to watch a film on NOW TV and we'll open up a chat room for everyone to chat together while watching the film at the same time.

We'll also post a poll closer to the time with some options of films to watch and the film with the most votes will be the one we'll watch together :)

When: Sunday 17th December 2-4pm
Where: Group Chat

If you'd like to come along, sign up using this link - https://forms.office.com/e/w9g1mHxKhk

Hope to see you there!
Maybe somethings don't get better, but we do. We get stronger. We learn to live with our situations as messy and ugly as they are. We fix what we can and we adapt to what we can't. Maybe some of us will never fully be okay, but at least we're here. We're still trying. We're doing the best we can. That's worth celebrating too ❤

I might think about signing up I looked at the form. Also quick question, do we need to have a NOW TV account already in action?. Only because, I haven't got a NOW TV pass so I don't know if I would be able to attend sadly. Though this does look like a very great event!.

We'd love to have you there @Amy22 :)

This is a great question! You don't need to have a NOW TV account already. We've got some pass codes to share with anyone who signs up which is valid for a month so you can watch the film with it. You will need to register an account to activate the code but we've got some instructions on how to set up for anyone that signs up :)

Any other questions, do let us know :)

Aw thank you so much for getting back in touch. That does make sense now I got a bit confused hehe. Also as you mentioned that the pass code is technically valid for a month after the month is over basically, would we need to cancel the subscription?. I am just curious as I know with free trials or pass codes afterwards it can charge you automatically.

Yes you can @River it’s a website aswell I believe.

Also @TheMix I believe NowTV restricts signups to over 18s, doesn’t affect me but I was just wondering for our younger members does that mean they’ll need a parent to help them?

Thank you everyone for your questions, we've done a bit more research and you're right @independent_ you do need to be 18 and over to sign up for an account.

Looks like this is because you'll have access to films that are for over 18s, and also because you do need a card to activate the account/membership even with the free voucher codes we have for you. @Amy22 yes you will need to cancel the membership to avoid being charged when the free membership code expires.

If you have a parent or guardian who can sign up on your behalf, you are still very welcome to come along to the film night.

Here's some more information below on how to activate the voucher code once we send them to you:
    Steps to redeem
    New to NOW?
    1. Go to nowtv.com to create your NOW account and click to sign up to a Sky Cinema Pass.
    2. Insert your voucher code in the relevant area and click APPLY (Your voucher code will be applied, and you will be charged £0.00).
    3. Enter your card details and finish signing up to Sky Cinema. A £1 holding charge per membership is taken from your bank account but it reimbursed once the account is verified.
    4. To avoid being charged, cancel your membership as soon as you have activated the codes by following the steps outlined here: https://help.nowtv.com/article/how-do-i-cancel-now-tv

    Existing NOW customer?
    1. Sign in with your NOW account details.
    2. Click "My Account" and "My Passes & Vouchers".
    3. Apply the voucher codes within their relevant section of the page.
    4. A £1 holding charge per membership is taken from your bank account but it reimbursed once the account is verified
    5. To avoid being charged, cancel your membership as soon as you have activated the codes by following the steps outlined here: https://help.nowtv.com/article/how-do-i-cancel-now-tv

Let us know if you have any more questions. We hope to still see a few of you there for the movie night :)

Hope you can make it @River we'd love to have you there :)

It is quite a complex sign up process for NOW, but we'd love to do more movie nights like this so if you're not able to make this one, hopefully the next one we can do something that's a bit easier to sign up to :)
