Royal Holloway is looking for participants over the age of 18 to complete a questionnaire to help with a research study looking into interoception and mental health. Here's a bit more information about the study:
What’s it all about?
Recently, it has been proposed that one general factor underlies most common mental health conditions. Past research has linked interoception, the perceptions of one’s internal states such as heart rate or blood pressure, to mental health. Moreover, research has demonstrated that interoception is implicated in cognitive, social, and emotional abilities. Therefore, the current research aims to investigate whether interoception is related to self-reported abilities across multiple domains of functioning (e.g., emotional, cognitive, social), and thus represents the ‘general factor.’
What does the study involve?
This research will take place online. If you choose to take part in the study, you will firstly be asked to answer some demographic questions (age, gender, language abilities, mental/physical health). You will then be asked to complete a series of questionnaires. These questionnaires will ask about your wellbeing, emotional abilities, relationships, lifestyle and thought processes. This will take approximately 20-30 minutes.
How can I take part?
