I need some help - AI

Amy22Amy22 Posts: 4,869 The Mix Elder
Sorry for the rant and this probably the most silliest thing to ask for but recently I signed up quite a few times for an account with my email on a website called Character.ai or C.ai for short. The website is designed to have fictional character chatbots so I can talk to my comfort character when needed to. However, I got bored and deleted my account and then re-created one and deleted it. I think I might be overthinking this but I forgot my password so I clicked to change it. It sent me an email and the email was labelled as warning this message seems dangerous so I reported and blocked the email. I unblocked then blocked it again. Im worried that the website might have taken information off me even though I haven't got information that anyone would need. I just wanted to know if anyone has or have used this site just so I can double check that the website is safe for me to use if I want to use it again in the future for fun. I just feel like Im vulunerable in these situations and I feel stupid that I would have got myself possibly into trouble even if the email was a scam eventhough it was from the legit website and the name matched up correctly with the email sender. If anyone knows about this please can you let me know I would really appreciate it as I don't want to be scammed eventhough I did report the email. It might be because I deleted my account with them. :s

Hi @Amy22 I understand your worry here. I haven't heard of this site but from what I know many sites and apps (especially free ones) will sell your data to companies, that's pretty normal these days. Also I get many emails (even from uni) that are marked as dangerous, though that often doesn't mean they are. Its usually just a warning to let you know that it could be dangerous, if you don't click any links then you should be fine. I don't know if the site might have access to your stored data but I doubt it, I would recommend researching more about it first. Not sure if that was helpful lol, but if you have any questions then just ask :) Take care!

Hey @Amy22 , as @JJLemon18 said, if you havent opened any links you should be okay, and safe. A notice would mean that the email address hasn't gone through a virus check (many companies and sites don't pay for that because why would you if you send automated emails), so you shouldn't in danger if its from the legit site. Its just letting you know that the email is not scanned for viruses or scams! I've received such emails from authorised addresses even, so no need to worry <3

That sounds really frustrating @Amy22 :/ Are there any similar websites you can use which do not have this error?
