Hi, I hope everyone's day has been well!
I just thought I might create a thread where we can discuss video games and everything related. But feel free to talk about whatever I don't really mind.
To start off, what is everyone's favourite game(s) that they played or watched someone else play?

Hogwarts Legacy looks kinda cool but I barely even know who Harry Potter is (I'm sorry )
I am myself a huge fan of open world games. I could honestly talk about games all day haha so if anyone is looking for recommendations then I could provide
Also what games did u guys play when u were younger? For me it was like cooking show and ofc moshi monsters
I did play the Sims like once when I was really young and from what I remember I always tried to cause as much chaos as possible
My most nostalgic game that I played when I was younger is Mario Galaxy. I love it so much and I have so many feelings for that game. I often tend to go back and replay it every once in a while haha its such a vibe
I really want to play the Splatoon games but I never get around to actually getting them , I'll have to put them on my to play list aha
I used to have The Sims but whenever I played it on our computer, it would always crash our computer system. I used to play it on my 3DS but it wasn't as good as the ones on the PC. I wish I could play them again as our computer is getting quite old now and I don't really want to sell them.
Well that depends. The Nintendo switch is pretty much the only way to play some games (like Mario or animal crossing), also it is great for playing with friends and family, and since it's a handheld you can almost play it anywhere you like.
But it does have some flaws, the graphics tend to be kinda poor in comparison to other consoles and from experience the controls often seem a bit laggy and unresponsive. But if you can get over this, you have the money and you really want to play some of the games then I'd say go for it. I have mine a couple years now and it has been a lot of fun, I got to recommend it (even though it does feel a little outdated in comparison to other consoles).
The nintendo ds has one function that I haven't seen anywhere else (but anyone correct me if I'm wrong) and it is the ability to play locally with a friend without them needing another game card and without the need for wi-fi. It is so good for traveling!
But what the hell that's so cool, I didn't know you could play with a friend without them needing another game card or wifi!! My cousins and I used to play together alllll the time but we needed wifi.
@kittenlover Personally, getting a DS was a great investment - I probably spent thousands of hours using it, and was a big way me and my friends used to socialise when we were younger! I don't have it anymore, but getting either an older DS or the new Switch is a great buy in my view, especially if your friends have them so you can play together.
@Amy22 I've started getting into Stardew Valley recently as well! It's a very different style of game to the ones I've mostly played (much slower-paced!), but it's quite a cool game. The option to play co-op with friends is an awesome feature too!
I FOUND MY OLD DS WHICH WAS THE LOML AND I FOUND THE PURPLE CASE I'D KEEP MY DS IN AND IT STILL HAS ALL THE GAMES IN IT TOO AND OMG I NEARLY CRIED IT MADE ME FEEL SO NOSTALGIC BUT AHHH I'M SO HAPPY I FOUND IT, THAT DS HAS A SPECIAL PLACE IN MY HEART!!
it's broken now and the once purple case is now a mucky shade (also it's ripped) but oh my god I used to carry that thing everywhere with me
It is kind of slow paced in a way but I find it very relaxing. Who is your favourite character at the moment, I think mine has to be Shane and Elliot. Oh yeah I've heard about the co-op style which is awesome. Imagine being able to play with friends and have like a shared farm.
@Amy22 At the moment, I'd probably say Linus - he's a really unique character, and I've been around the mines a lot recently. Granted, I've not got a lot of game time in yet, so that'll probably change over time. Yeah, some of my friends all set up a co-op farm together, it looked like a lot of fun! I didn't have much time to join in consistently, but definitely something I'd like to try in the future
Ahh yeah Linus is great!. I keep forgetting what he looks like though sometimes lol. I have been hanging out a lot in the mines, I managed to get to level 60 I think. I'm currently in fall season which is interesting.
Some of the best and most memorable games I've played recently though: Cyberpunk 2077, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, Detroit: Become Human, Gris.
I bought Prey a while ago and I've been desperately meaning to get round to playing it, because it looks fantastic, but I've just had other priorities to focus on.
Never had a DS or anything like that - was always more of a console gamer!
@Amy22 ah okay, you're streets ahead of me! I think I'm only level 4 mining, so still yet to spend much time with a lot of the other characters. It's really cool that they've got a proper NPC interaction system, adds a nice social element to the game rather than just farming and mining all day
@ebyrne556 Haha that's awesome - sheer coincidence, but I found some of my old DS photos just a couple days back as well! They're awful quality, but as a kid it was really exciting to have my own camera. Sonic Rush actually happens to be the very first game I ever played on DS, what a throwback!
@Mike that's awesome! Have you played much of the Halo franchise? Used to play Combat Evolved years ago with friends, was good times! Prey sounds cool, what's it about?
