Hi, I hope everyone's day has been well!
I just thought I might create a thread where we can discuss video games and everything related. But feel free to talk about whatever I don't really mind. :)

To start off, what is everyone's favourite game(s) that they played or watched someone else play?

My favorite games were Warcraft, Starcraft and MapleStory , but I haven't played those games since I grow up. It is nostalgia to think about those memories!

My favourite has to be Pokemon, lost count of how many hours I've spent playing the games now! It's so hard to pick other favourites, feel like I've played so many different franchises that I've really enjoyed (and still discovering new ones!). Lately I've been watching a playthrough of Hogwarts Legacy, which looks like an incredible game :)

Its cool to see such a variety of games being played here!
Hogwarts Legacy looks kinda cool but I barely even know who Harry Potter is (I'm sorry )
I am myself a huge fan of open world games. I could honestly talk about games all day haha so if anyone is looking for recommendations then I could provide ;)

I did play the Sims like once when I was really young and from what I remember I always tried to cause as much chaos as possible

My most nostalgic game that I played when I was younger is Mario Galaxy. I love it so much and I have so many feelings for that game. I often tend to go back and replay it every once in a while haha its such a vibe

I used to have The Sims but whenever I played it on our computer, it would always crash our computer system. I used to play it on my 3DS but it wasn't as good as the ones on the PC. I wish I could play them again as our computer is getting quite old now and I don't really want to sell them.

I've always had an urge to buy a nintendo since I grew up with playing on other consoles. I really want to play mario games and animal crossing but I'm not sure if it's a good investment lol

Well that depends. The Nintendo switch is pretty much the only way to play some games (like Mario or animal crossing), also it is great for playing with friends and family, and since it's a handheld you can almost play it anywhere you like.
But it does have some flaws, the graphics tend to be kinda poor in comparison to other consoles and from experience the controls often seem a bit laggy and unresponsive. But if you can get over this, you have the money and you really want to play some of the games then I'd say go for it. I have mine a couple years now and it has been a lot of fun, I got to recommend it (even though it does feel a little outdated in comparison to other consoles).

That's cool. I have played locket league for a bit, pretty fun but I left it because I found it a bit boring after a while.
The nintendo ds has one function that I haven't seen anywhere else (but anyone correct me if I'm wrong) and it is the ability to play locally with a friend without them needing another game card and without the need for wi-fi. It is so good for traveling!

@JJLemon18 Same I used to play rocket league sooo much but I haven't in a while. I would always just grab a box of jaffa cakes and scoff on them while playing.
But what the hell that's so cool, I didn't know you could play with a friend without them needing another game card or wifi!! My cousins and I used to play together alllll the time but we needed wifi.

Animal crossing is one my favourites. However, and I know this sounds weird like but I always procrasinate looking after my island lol, my poor villages are just wondering where I am. I only just now logged back in after like four months of like mysteriously disappearing from my island lol xd.

@ebyrne556 Just to follow up, Hogwarts Legacy is a new open-world game released this year - I think the one you're referencing is Hogwarts Mystery maybe? Honestly, it looks like a great game, probably a contender for Game of the Year already! Also played some Sims a few years back, most of that being on Sims 4.

@kittenlover Personally, getting a DS was a great investment - I probably spent thousands of hours using it, and was a big way me and my friends used to socialise when we were younger! I don't have it anymore, but getting either an older DS or the new Switch is a great buy in my view, especially if your friends have them so you can play together.

@Amy22 I've started getting into Stardew Valley recently as well! It's a very different style of game to the ones I've mostly played (much slower-paced!), but it's quite a cool game. The option to play co-op with friends is an awesome feature too!

@Azziman speaking of having a DS...

I FOUND MY OLD DS WHICH WAS THE LOML AND I FOUND THE PURPLE CASE I'D KEEP MY DS IN AND IT STILL HAS ALL THE GAMES IN IT TOO AND OMG I NEARLY CRIED IT MADE ME FEEL SO NOSTALGIC BUT AHHH I'M SO HAPPY I FOUND IT, THAT DS HAS A SPECIAL PLACE IN MY HEART!!

it's broken now and the once purple case is now a mucky shade (also it's ripped) but oh my god I used to carry that thing everywhere with me

It is kind of slow paced in a way but I find it very relaxing. Who is your favourite character at the moment, I think mine has to be Shane and Elliot. Oh yeah I've heard about the co-op style which is awesome. Imagine being able to play with friends and have like a shared farm.

@Xee the nostalgia of finding an old broken console has a bittersweet feeling haha! I remember having a case for mine as well, with a few slots to hold game carts and a stylus. Good memories :) What was your favourite DS game, or the one you spent the most time on?

@Amy22 At the moment, I'd probably say Linus - he's a really unique character, and I've been around the mines a lot recently. Granted, I've not got a lot of game time in yet, so that'll probably change over time. Yeah, some of my friends all set up a co-op farm together, it looked like a lot of fun! I didn't have much time to join in consistently, but definitely something I'd like to try in the future :)

I lost my stylus like a week after getting it @Azziman lol. I think all the mario games were my fav, me and my cousins had a huge collection. I used to have some weird witchcraft thingy I'd play but I think mario kart was my all time fav. Wbu?

Ahh yeah Linus is great!. I keep forgetting what he looks like though sometimes lol. I have been hanging out a lot in the mines, I managed to get to level 60 I think. I'm currently in fall season which is interesting.

Super late to the party on this but my day-to-day game at the moment is Halo Infinite. It's not the best but it scratches the itch in between better games. 😅

Some of the best and most memorable games I've played recently though: Cyberpunk 2077, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, Detroit: Become Human, Gris.

I bought Prey a while ago and I've been desperately meaning to get round to playing it, because it looks fantastic, but I've just had other priorities to focus on.

Never had a DS or anything like that - was always more of a console gamer!

@Xee I can definitely relate to losing my stylus! I had quite a few styli over my time of having a DS haha :) Also loved the Mario games - Mario Kart and Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games were top picks. My personal favourite was the Pokemon series, especially Pokemon Pearl - I'm still a huge Pokemon fan now, lost track of how many Pokemon DS games I played (and how many hours I invested in them)!

@Amy22 ah okay, you're streets ahead of me! I think I'm only level 4 mining, so still yet to spend much time with a lot of the other characters. It's really cool that they've got a proper NPC interaction system, adds a nice social element to the game rather than just farming and mining all day :)

@ebyrne556 Haha that's awesome - sheer coincidence, but I found some of my old DS photos just a couple days back as well! They're awful quality, but as a kid it was really exciting to have my own camera. Sonic Rush actually happens to be the very first game I ever played on DS, what a throwback!

@Mike that's awesome! Have you played much of the Halo franchise? Used to play Combat Evolved years ago with friends, was good times! Prey sounds cool, what's it about?
