I have lots! I would have to say proving people wrong when they say I'm not capable is my main one - anyone who knows me knows it has given me my determination.
In line with this, being accepted onto my Masters course after being told I wasn't capable of studying for a level 3 course has to be one of the best.
Similarly, my daily life supporting The Mix and other charities is incredible especially after being told I wouldn't able to work, be in practice or support myself
I am really excited to see what our other community members share with us about their favourite memories
I think a positive memory for me was in September, I went to a mental health charity fundraiser, and got up and spoke about my experience with the service, and my struggles with my mental health in front of around 100 people. I'm a massive introvert and I hadn't really socialised with anyone for months going on years, and it was just such a massive step out of my comfort zone, but looking back, I'm so pleased I did it, and I really think it's helped my confidence!
I remember the first time I met my baby sister. I would've been about 10 years old and she's our dads, who I didn't live with. I met her when she must've been about 2-3 weeks old. She was really premature (over a month) so she was TINY.
My gran took me over to my dad and his wife's house and I got to hold her and give her cuddles.
Apparently I didn't want to leave - I don't blame me!!
I have to say most of my best memories are recent - from my early and mid 20's. But one from a little earlier sprung to mind, from my first festival experience when I was around 18.
I was there with my (now ex) partner and we saw Dan Le Sac and Scroobius Pip. It rained so heavily that water started coming through the stage roofing and Dan Le Sac had to put a towel over his head so his equipment didn't get wet, and we got soaked but I don't think anyone cared. If anything it added to the experience, in a weird sort of way.
They had these enormous balloons tethered to the sides of the stage, and during the final song, Pip cut them loose and threw them out into the crowd.
The music itself was awe-inspiring and it was the first time I'd seen a properly good live music performance. I remember being so transported by it all and being on SUCH a high afterwards, and when we got back to our tent we realised we'd left it open and our stuff was soaked. Again though, it just didn't matter because we were having such a good time.
I think from that point onwards, I understood why people loved live music so much and why they would always say nothing compares to it. Pretty incredible experience.
Simpler times. 😅
