Around this time of year, every year, we run a 'Christmas Elves' event. :)

For those who don't know, we ask for volunteers to be 'elves' over Christmas and New Year. Staff mods are around less, moderator cover is usually a bit thinner, and support needs can be higher. That means every single post, reaction, or report matters that much more and really helps keep this place going.

Elf duties can include any of the following... *clicks pen and shuffles papers*

  • Reporting concerning posts
  • Welcoming new members
  • Uploading a Christmas avatar if you haven't already
  • Replying to posts to support others (especially ones that haven't been replied to)
  • Starting threads to get people involved
  • Reacting to posts to show you're around

The Mix will also be joining in with this - some of our staff that don't usually work directly on the community will be signing up over Christmas to help out, so you'll see them drifting through. :)

'Is there a badge for doing this?', I hear you cry. Why yes, there is!

Anyone who joins the Christmas Elves this year will be awarded this limited edition badge:

Hopefully it goes without saying that, even if you don't officially join the elves and you're active over Christmas, that's a huge help and doesn't go unseen by us or the community. :star: You're all awesome.
