    Heyy,

section 3 can last awhile and thats what def stressed me out when i was in hospital & talking about section 3 after 2 in hospital. But really they aim to just get everyone out as soon as possible and rather home treatment. I hope things get easier soon
“And when they look at you, they won't see everything you've been through. They won't see the **** that turned to scars that began to fade with time. They won't see the heartbreaking things that shook up and changed your entire world. They won't know how many tears you cried or even what it was you were crying about. They won't see how strong you had to be because you had no other choice. What they will see though is how compassionate you are because you experienced pain. What they will see is how kind you are because you experienced how cruel the world is. What they will see is how good you are because you've seen how bad things or people can be. The difference between you and your experiences are who you choose to be, despite everything that could have turned you cold and unkind. You are the good the world needs and the best of us.” ~ Kirsten Corley

No it's fine to ask it's not exactly what Butterfly said section 2 is for assesment and you can be kept for up to 28 days and my 28th day is tomorrow but a section 3 is for treatment and can be kept for 6 months at a time.
6 months 😱 wow that's tough, sending massive hugs and love hearts

There not saying I'm going to be in here for 6 months they said they hadent done a discharge plan so they just want me to stay a week or two longer and I wouldnt stay informal so they had to section 3 me as my section 2 expires tomorrow but I suppose I guess what sort of ways I harm myself if I'm kept in here longer than the week or two they said.

I'm sorry to hear that they've moved you onto a Section 3 @Sham, that sounds really difficult. You mentioned you have a ward review and a meeting with a solicitor today, how did they go? I hope that they were able to give you some insight into when you can leave.

    How are you feeling today?

Ward review went really well the doctor who put me on a section 3 on Monday said I can go home if my cpn and the discharge nurse from my CAMHS agree but my cpn is'nt in until tomorrow but I've just got hold of my CAMHS discharge nurse and she said she is happy for me to go home so she is going to phone the staff on the ward now and tell them so I'll be able to go home.

It's all fucking bullshit. The discharge person that agreed that she is happy for me to go home said now that I am on a section 3 there is a process and she said I've got to have leave before I get discharged so I'm not leaving straight away like I thought I was I'm so angry so the discharge lady suggested I ask the staff for some leave before our 117 meeting next week (what everyone on a section 3 has to have) and the staff have just said that there not happy to take me on escorted leave whilst I am self harming although the doctor and the discharge lady have said they are happy for me to go home. Well I'm not going to stop self harming so what are they going to do...I thought I was going home now. Now I've got to stay another week at least. I'm going to trash the ward in a minute if I don't calm down.

Just managed to get escorted leave and I did something. Someone else had to come and help and bring me back to the ward. I'm so fustrated now I've self harmed pretty badly. I know they probably arent going to let me go.

I've got a meeting a week today and as many people as possible are coming my CAMHS discharge person is coming, my support worker, my hopefully new cpn and my social worker have all been invited for my 117 meeting. A nurse has just told me I'm being discharged on Thursday I guess if they all agree. Anyway what I need help with deciding is to sit in on the meeting and listen to it all which the only thing about this is that I hate the consultant so I could get angry and I feel like I might spit on his face or if I don't sit in I'll be really paranoid the time there in there thinking about what they are talking about me. So should I sit in or not!?😫

    Thankyou.

I'm not sure another week on this ward will get better. I don't know where I stand with anymore leave now and I'm really nervous about the meeting a week today I have just typed about. I really don't know if to sit in or not.

    Hey @Sham

    Sending you hugs too <3

I can really hear how much you're hurting, you've been really brave sharing everything here with us.

It sounds like it's been really frustrating for you in the hospital and there's been a lot of miscommunication about when you might be able to go home. I'm really sorry things have changed and you might be staying a bit longer until your meeting next week. A few days ago you mentioned you had a meeting with your solicitor, how did that meeting go? Is there anything they can do to help you?

If you do feel like you might like someone to reach out to about how you're feeling, these places below are always just a call or text away. You're not alone Sham :)

Maybe somethings don't get better, but we do. We get stronger. We learn to live with our situations as messy and ugly as they are. We fix what we can and we adapt to what we can't. Maybe some of us will never fully be okay, but at least we're here. We're still trying. We're doing the best we can. That's worth celebrating too ❤

The meeting with the solicitor went okay but she said the tribunal date takes much longer on a section 3 so if I'm being discharged in a week I won't need a tribunal but if you say in a tribunal you want to kill yourself you won't win anyway so if they do decide to keep me here after the meeting next week I feel embarassed but I'm going to have to tell them that I don't want a tribunal and just wait in here until I get discharged so I can.

    Hugss.

Sounds like you feel really stuck. Take a lot of strength getting through day to day in hospital & empathise with how can feel under section.

Its your decision to whether to sit in on the meeting but might be helpful to think about pro and cons of each and which is best. And how/if you can handle the cons. What do you think?

Staff are shocking. I was self harming in the garden today and a nurse asked me to do it in my room and was happy for me to do that because she didnt try and take it of me what I was doing it with. I also took somethings out of the garden knowing I was going to hurt myself with them. I've hurt myself with one of them so far and I told a nurse and none of the staff have come and spoke to me about it. It says online that if you get a rupture you'll probably get sepsis and because it was dirty I'm more likely to get an infection and that girl on Hollyoaks died from sepsis. Either the staff don't believe me but I took a video of me doing it because a different time I wasent believed about the same thing on another ward or think I just want attention from it so arent giving it me. The staff should be doing more to keep me safe and because they arent I might aswell be let home.

That sounds hard when feel like people are not taking you seriously. It sounds like you may want help when you're self harming and want to be kept safe otherise may aswell be at home. Which is really good you want staff to care. It's also really good you told a nurse - that takes a lot. :)

Omg a friend I met in a different mental health hospital last year has just come to the ward I'm on so we have reunited at mental health wards lol. She'll hopefully help me through the weekend and next week.

    @Sham

Just wanted to pop in and say we all believe in you! 💗

Sorry to hear that the staff aren’t taking you as seriously as they should be, that sounds difficult especially when you are reaching out to the staff 💗

Glad to hear that your friend is on the same ward, hopefully that helps you stay be a little easier and you can support each other though it 😊

    Take care,

    Butterfly x

    Thanks Butterfly.

I just can't believe we are on the same wards again and the people put similar thoughts into our heads so we react similar that's why on the other ward we met on we wasent allowed out on leave to have a fag together lol.

It's so strange that we are back on the same ward together. I couldnt believe it.

My "friends" are pissing me off. One friend said it was stressing her out coming to see me and another one said she'll be here about 3pm today well she has just answered her phone and said she'll call me back I bet she dosent she said she is cooking her dinner so she is'nt going to be here at 3pm. I've done more than enough for my friends. I said to one of my friends that she could topup her phone £10 from me to say thankyou and she took £10 out without evan asking and lastnight she asked for another £10 because she had no electric. #Friendsarentfriends

Got a meeting tomorrow with the Ward manager and someone from the NHS trust who runs this hospital who I've complained to about the ward his already sent the Matron and the Nurse manager to speak to me but I'm not happy with what either of them have said. So his coming to speak to me personally with the Ward manager. I'm so nervous. I know there's no point really because they don't see a point in taking any action because they said they did what they did because I seemed to have wanted to abscond and attack the staff but neither of them are true. So I'm just wasting my time but I guess I'm hoping I'm not because neither of them are true.

The meeting has been cancelled for today (sigh of reflief) I kind of didnt want a meeting with the Ward manager because I've already met with her. Instead I've filled out a form online for the CQC to investigate and made an offical written complaint and took and picture of it and emailed it to the NHS trust who the CQC will go to in the first instance anyway. This seems much better dealing with people outside of the hospital than inside the hospital (ie having a meeting with the Ward manager, which I've already done). I just hope the CQC come on a day when it's as bad as it is.

My next worry is Thursday for my 117 meeting. Will they let me go home or will they want me to stay longer. I don't know. Should I let them discuss me whilst I'm not there or not allow that. I don't know.
  • Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 133 The Mix Convert
I'm glad that the meeting was cancelled for you today, and that you've been able to send a complaint to the CQC. I'm wondering if you've heard about PALS (patient advice and liasion service) too, they can help with things like complaints and where to go, and speak to people on your behalf. It sounds like you're doing a good job submitting these things yourself, but if you need any further support they could be an option for you?

It sounds like you're still unsure about attending the meeting on Thursday? @Shaunie mentioned that you could write a pros and cons list, is that something you might try?

How are things today? Is the friend you met in hospital previously still in hospital with you?
  • Former MemberFormer Member Deactivated Posts: 496 Listening Ear

I have heard of PALS but it's the NHS trust who deal with complaints at this hospital not PALS. I'm not sure why.

I could write a pro's and con's list. I might do that later.

Things started of ok and the people was funny -they kept tickling me but then I didnt feel to good and this afternoon another friend has pissed me off. She has my bank card and is bringing me munchies to the hospital well I got paid today and she is a druggie she asked if she could borrow another £10 (she did the other day) and I said no so now to spite me she is saying she dosent know if she is going to come up today and my fear is she'll take all of my money (especially spend it on drugs) and won't give me my card back. I just feel so shit. I've self harmed and it's going numb the area so I don't know how bad it is (hopefully this is'nt tmi) I have been very careful at what I've put.

I could cancel my card (just in case) and order a new one again but does that mean I won't be able to order things online until I get my new card? (like takeaways and clothes if I have to stay here longer than Thursday) and I only had to order a new card a couple of weeks ago so will I be able to order another one?
