Are there boring people in the world?

SienaSiena Posts: 15,673 Skive's The Limit
Dunno if this is the right section to be asking this

But, Do you think there are boring people in the world? If yes, how would you describe them?

My first thought was yes- but now ive thought a bit more deeply, i’m not sure. So wondering others views🙃
“And when they look at you, they won't see everything you've been through. They won't see the **** that turned to scars that began to fade with time. They won't see the heartbreaking things that shook up and changed your entire world. They won't know how many tears you cried or even what it was you were crying about. They won't see how strong you had to be because you had no other choice. What they will see though is how compassionate you are because you experienced pain. What they will see is how kind you are because you experienced how cruel the world is. What they will see is how good you are because you've seen how bad things or people can be. The difference between you and your experiences are who you choose to be, despite everything that could have turned you cold and unkind. You are the good the world needs and the best of us.” ~ Kirsten Corley

Aidan - ah thanks for sharing. I get what you mean
But like what if someone has like not many interests and they dont seem to have much personality to them either - like being v blunt, v negative, not having much to say, not having any facial expression ever and having the same boring tone of vioce and never wanting to try new things or do anything

Like wouldnt they be classed as boring ?

but i mean i dunno cause then thats different compared to other people and different isnt boring. & i guess everyone has a point of view and different experiences and have soemthing worth saying

@Shaunie this is a really good question!! When I read the title I was thinking yeh of course, there are mega boring people I know from work etc, then actually once you think about it like @Aidan said, actually people you think are "boring" are only people who are into things that you aren't (and would probably think you're boring too!).

Actually, each one of us has unique thoughts, we are all different in some way, and that makes for a pretty un-boring world.

    And actually on this point:

I'd probably assume if I met someone who seemed like that ^ that there was more to them than met the eye (therefore also not boring). Does that make sense?

Thats actually an interesting thought. And like reminds of when people say “quiet people are observant and thoughtful” or something. And guess doesnt make them boring if they are thoughtful and actually have a busy mind instead.

But then - (and feel contradictive for saying after saying people are blunt) - but like when i ask someone about their day and they give a 1 hour speech on how their lil walk was or something or they speak for like so long (in detail about irrelavent stuff) before getting to their point. Like that is boring af tbh and could just condense what theyre saying and dont see how anyone would find that interesting - if they was to speak like that everytime.  And then they dont even bother asking how your day is. Cause they probably dont care and not interested in much and in my opinion is quite boring. But i guess soemone else (probs another ‘boring’ person) could find that conversation so interesting. Lol

And never really understood the saying of “only boring people get bored” cause i don’t know surely being bored is because you want to try something more exciting that what already doing and trying new things clearly isnt for a boring person. But then yeah i guess a fun person could find fun in a lot of things. I don’t know.

i also read the other day that old people are the only boring people in the world. When i guess speaking about the weather could be pretty boring - but they have had many life experiences and are thoughtful people ect. But being old you wouldnt wanna do much anyway

     I dunno
I probs make no sense & am contradictive and this whole post is probably boring to read 😭😂😂😂😂
but sometimes i try to make friends or just socialise but feel have not much interest with many people and dunno what to say with blunt or ‘boring’ people. maybe im the boring person lol

I don't think some people can even be defined as truly boring, but they lack imagination and cannot have deep conversations, or engage in healthy debate. Or even connect with others on an emotional level.

When asked was I interested in football or what television progs, I said neither so the person changed subjects and asked what were my interests. When I answered, they just nodded and continued enjoying their beer, and I thought "how rude", got up and walked away. This is why I don't engage in small talk.

I personally don't think anyone's boring because everyone has a purpose for being In the world.  Personally I think you can't be boring. But you can be bored. Like I said a person cannot be boring. That's impossible.   If you did think someone boring isn't that judging them?
