Sorry it's a few days late

Here are your choices from last month. There's some goodun's in here - you've got some classic posters contributions to choose from. Can't remember the last time Rolly was in there...I could have travelled back to 2005 ;)

There once was a young man named Mr G
Who professed to be terribly twee
He went to join the army,
And luckily came to no harmy
And now he's enjoying his leave.

Is it the girl's fault for wearing a skirt?: http://vbulletin.thesite.org/showthread.php/152788?p=2443164#post2443164
There are things you can do to lessen the chance of becoming a victim of crime.
But if a crime is committed it is the criminal who is 100% at fault every time.

If a girl is raped then the rapist is 100% at fault.

I started my drug years around 15, but from boredom more than anything else. One thing i have found is that whatever problems you have before taking drugs are still right there afterwards, and often worse than before.

Drugs aren't an escape, they are just a very temporary diversion that also bring their own problems.

Woop woop it's the sound of da joke police!

I tell racist jokes to my black, Indian and mixed race friends. We laugh. I wouldn't tell a racist joke around someone I didn't know, even if it was the best racist joke I knew, because I don't want people to think I'm racist. Because I'm not.

The same arguments should be advanced against people who want to be the moral arbiters of funny as to those who want to be the moral arbiters of language in general: you're missing the point entirely and what makes you think you'd be qualified to police what I can hear even if you weren't so off the mark? What, presumably, you want to effect a change in is people's attitudes - in your cack-handed, misguidedly liberal way - not the way people express those attitudes. I want racists to use the word 'nigger'. I want shitty comedians to tell shitty rape jokes. Because this way I can identify who's a cunt and who isn't. And I wouldn't dream of patronising the victims of rape or racism by electing myself Sanitiser of Worlds.

The trouble is, when a crime effects someone the way a rape can, than statistics make sod all of a difference. If a woman or a man has been raped, than to them the statistic is 100%.

We can use statistics as we often do to try and explain trends etc, but even when violent crime and rape incidents fall, it still does not take away what has already happened to some victims.

The fact that we refer to rape as a crime or incident doesn't do justice to the pain and suffering someone can/has endured. I've often found it odd to use something as unemotive as "statistics" and numbers when talking about something as highly emotive as rape and sexual assault.

I think people need to separate the two ideas. Managing risk is something you do for yourself. I lock my doors because I don't want my house to be burgled. I don't walk alone late at night because I don't want to be attacked. That is not to say in any way that if I didn't take those precautions and something did happen to me that it even slightly excuses that crime.

A victim is a victim. Personally managing your risk is something you can do to make it less likely that that victim is you. It's not a matter of blame, but one of probability.

Victim blaming is something that arseholes to to make them feel better about being arseholes.

Young, gifted and on the dole: http://vbulletin.thesite.org/showthread.php/152964?p=2444233#post2444233
Just want to point out that a lot of people are content with not bouncing into a graduate job off their art degree, but currently the choice is six hour shifts temping with an agency or staying on the dole.

I have a good job and I'm good at that but I got that due to nepotism and most others can't say the same. It's not about the types of degrees people are getting but more the macro economic factor that there is a lack of demand (for various reasons) so the amount of opportunities has reduced. At this point, people ARE already working for free. It is literally impossible for the curve of 'ability and willingness to work' to fall further. Remember that the 'too good for shit jobs' crowd are the tail end and there are Legion of willing graduates just to get a shit job to avoid the damning 'gap on the CV'.

Happiness cannot be found in a bottle a pipe or a syringe.
Pleasure can of course and wreckless abandon.
Fuck the world I wanna get high!!!!!
Fuck you fuck everything I wanna get pissed!!!!!
Does that sound like happiness?
Honestly?
Spend a little time thinking about pleasure and happiness.
They are not the same thing.
They may be related but they are only distant cousins.
Pleasure can be gotten every day in many places and usualy costs a few quid.
In all my life I've never found anyone selling happiness.

Why don't girls buy rechargeable batteries?: http://vbulletin.thesite.org/showthread.php/153030?p=2444660#post2444660

When did you start feeling like a grown-up?
http://vbulletin.thesite.org/showthread.php/153062?p=2445109#post2445109
being grown up isnt a feeling. Its a way of acting and an acceptance of your responsibilities.

Its a fluctuating thing

You are a lovely cat,
and you like wearing your hat,
When you need a wee wee,
get in the box and pee pee,
when you need a poo,
do it in mummy's shoe,
you are very furry,
mummy's eye's are blurry,
yes we like to cuddle,
let's hope your not in trouble,
you like eating meat,
and you have lots of feet...

I'd say I'm a creative genius.
