Hey everyone,

Young Women's Trust have recently launched a Grants Service to provide financial support to young people aged between 18-30. Here's some information about their Grants Service:

Young Women’s Trust Grants Service
Our Grants Service provides financial support to young women aged 18-30 who have limited financial resources, to help them overcome practical barriers to work. It is available to women living in England and Wales, who are claiming work-related state benefits and actively looking for or committed to progressing in work. The Grants Service is easy to use. Young women just need to complete an online application form telling us about themselves and what they need to help them find work or improve their work situation.

We will not give cash, but will buy things on young women’s behalf, that they think will help them. Women have told us some of the things they most need help with are:
  • Clothing and looking smart for interviews and at work
  • Courses and other training opportunities
  • Technology, including laptops, tablets and software
  • Tools and goods, particularly if you want to work for yourself or are self-employed, for example as a builder or hairdresser
  • Transport costs, and getting to work or interviews

The deadline for the next round of applications is 17th July 2017 (by 12 noon).

Further rounds will follow until the end of the year. The application process involves answering a number of questions – which can be done online using a mobile, tablet or computer. An average of £350 is spent on each grant – with a maximum amount of £500.
