People who wrongly believe that they're talented

I've encountered many people who wrongly believe/claim that they're very good at something. Some of them have become angry at me for failing to acknowledge their non-existent abilities.

If I attempt to pretend to enjoy/admire something, it's obvious that I'm lying. Is there another way of avoiding the wrath of such people?
