Yes, this is a great threat, and hopefully some good can come of it.

OK so Anorexia is a psychological thing but it still requires will power and that will power comes from people making a concious effort to get skinny.
My sister was anorexic when I was growing up (in the early eighties a bit before it became really fashionable for 'depressed' youths!) and My mum approached it in totally the wrong way by trying to force more food on her plate. ultimately it was a power and control thing as well as an attention seeking disorder and I really believe that lots of these people who have Anorexia or Bullimia or cut themselves up are totally responsible for their own behaviour and could well benefit from a good slap.
There's too much self pitying going on and I speak as one who has suffered some dramatic depression so I'm totally callous!
People need to take a good look at what they have and be grateful for a change.

Fat people over indulge and under exercise and then expect a miracle cure for their self inflicted complaint. Get off youor fat arses and get fit instead of lying about how much you really eat!

Current problem with the epidemic of PC behavior is that SO DAMNED MANY are so afraid ta "take a dump" because a whiff o' the strench MIGHT get to someone's nose that they constipate themselves until the fecal flow explodes outta their mouth... and sometimes the act of using their cranium for a supository is the act resulting in the constipation.

Politically correct = too STUPID to have an original opinion that wasn't forcefed to them, too GUTLESS to take a stand, and too CHICKENSH#T to defend their position.

Thanatos Jr is currently on deployment with the Marine Corps, and might not be around for awhile.

DISCIPLINE is the issue, both with his weight loss, and the topic as a whole. Discipline is a concept non-comprehensive to bleating sheep. Tj's mother spent a decade attempting to "sheepify" him after he had lived with me for five years, but she couldn't break his spine. She had forcefed him to obesity, TRYING to make him something his was not, until he finally said "F#CK THAT SH#T", and re-discovered himself.

Discipline is what got him through "boot camp" in the USMC, with a hand broken sufficiently that it eventually required surgery. Qualified EXPERT while shooting with that broken hand. REFUSED to re-cycle.

A lack of discipline engenders ONLY DISGUST in those who LEAD a disciplined life... not that you might ever detect that revulsion around here...

So, if you are telling people that are fat to get off their fat asses and slim, can people, in the same line, also say to anorexic people, get off your boney asses and eat? That is such a pig headed and narrow point of mind, people have charactoristics and manerisms, and behave in a particular way for particulat reasons, its jsut a great shame not everyone can be as perfect as u!

It is sad that not everyone is as perfect as me.

OK the first step it to limit your calorie intake to 1200 calories. That is the minumum required for organ function. now tunafish is going to be your best friend, that and some rice cakes. Wake up 1st thing in the mourning and have a few cups of coffee, put your running shoes on and hit the trail. I normally did 3 miles at 1/2 mile intervals. Every half mile do 50 pushups, 100 sit-ups, 100 jumping jacks, and start running again. Make sure you don't stop moving as keeping your heartrate up is what burns the calories. then come home have your grapefruit and a rice cake and shower. Do this again before lunch and dinner, and a good exercise after dinner. Drink about 2 to 3 gallons of water a day, it will keep your metobalizm up and you wont feel as hungery.

Oh yeah, it will work, but I don't think any of you could mentally make it through the first day. Remeber that is only 1200 calories.

If you want something easier and slower, try this, take your weight, multiply it by 14 and that is how many calories you need a day to sustain your weight, now subtract 1000 and start working out at least 5 hours a week. That is only your favorite tv show you watch every day. You should lose about 2 lbs a week eating the same food just less of it.

Once again for you all it is all about will power. Some have it and some don't

Perhaps people who stare themselves should just be ignored. If they want to be that thin then let em!

It's the fat fat fat people who go on and on 'why am I so fat...' but never do anything about it who need to get of their arses.

If you stuff your face and sit around all day you get fat ! Deal with it and don't expect other people to deal with it for you.

I'm about half a stone overweight but I don't go on about it, and I'd never let it get so out of control so that I'm 2, 3, 4, stone overweight. I mean HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN? How do people get THAT fat and not notice sooner. It's not like you wake up one morning and think 'shit! I'm 20 stone - I wonder how I did that!'

What an absolute load of crap. If you were as overwieght as you said you were and you tried to do that you would have been dead within an hour, ask any doctor.
So either you are talking total shit from start to finish, or you have low self asteam and need to exaggerate. Your second lot of hints comes close to being good, but your first (the ones u recon you did) doesnt even come close to being crap. Sort it out and stop gving advise that could seriously hurt someone.

*thinks its time you all heard from one of "the fat people"*

if you want proof that I AM one of "the fat people", here's my faceparty url
http://www.faceparty.com/nonpareilentity

and now to the point.

For starters, I want to tell you all a little about me.

When I lived on the mainland, with the children I had known since I walked into the sandstone nursery school, I never once heard an adverse comment about my weight. It was just Puppyfat. nothing more nothing less, and the girls and boys that I spent every day walking with and playing with didn't have an issue with my weight. They were un-prajudiced and saw me as the little girl with ringlets and pink-rimmed glasses that had spent every day with them for years.

Then I moved to Arran when I was 6. Within the confines of an island community, the other children were wary of this new-comer and of course HAD to stirike out at me in any way they could:I was the intruder. I deserved it.

That was when I first found myself being called fat. Of course, since I was the most overweight in the class and was called Gabrielle, the name Flabby Gabby was coined. charming or what??

Anyway. This bothered me at first, as it would. I was a new kid, not at all sure why I was being teased by these weird children. But then I realised what it was. It was a defense system. They saw me turn up, different from that which they were used to and needed to strike out at me.

Eventually, of course, I made friends. All of the friends I had i8n Primary school were cast-out in their own way. There were the very quiet two girls in the year above me, also slightly overweight. hen there was the boy who was considered to be stupid and weird.

But the friends that I made then are STILL my friends, and some of the best that I have ever had. Becca and Sandra are great, and have always supported me when I needed it, as has Robin, who I was dancing with at the new year. I wouldn't have traded them for the whole class of popular kids.

MY weight, like their weaknesses made me an out-cast, but we stuck together and were fine.

After a while, I decided that it was no longer necessary for me to be concerned about my weight. The people I was (and am) friends with were nicer, more genuine people than the people who got at me, and being the way I was and am has never restricted my life in any way as far as I can see.

I know that you people who say "its all the fat persons own fault" will repeat that at me again and again and again, but I dont really care.

I'm as healthy as most people.
I've not been really ill in the past few years(other than the chicken pox, and even then I wa fine apart from the pustulating sores). My school attendance has been 100% apart from one time I took off. FOR AN OPEN DAY. I worked as a catering assistant (glorified waitress!) during the summer, abd worked as hard as the rest of them with no problems. I can do WHATEVER I WANT TO.

You are all treating being overweight as a sort of descision. It isn't really. I admit that I COULD probably do something about it if I chose to. But I know that there are some people who can't. My sister and I have a friend, who is really quite badly overweight to the extent that it DOES affect her health. But she CAN'T lose weight, because due to health issues she has to balance her diet, and she is highly athsmatic, so any small amount of exertion could cause her to collapse.

It's a vicious circle. Her health makes her weight go up and her weight makes her health worse.

So you see, NOT everyone can sort it all out themselves.

I'm in agreement with Snoop about your diet idea thantos. I really think that it is ridiculous for people to work themselves like that purely for aesthetics, an it MUST be for aesthetics because, to be honest, anyone who was really even a bit overweight wouldn't be ABLE to do what you're asking!!!

What else . . .

guys . . .
how many of you, when you're with a girl, think "I love her body* and run your hands over her only to get your hands torn to shreds by the ribs that rip through your palms on the way past? Not many, I'll bet!
BUT how many of you think *I love her body, and run you hands over her, relishing the feel of soft flesh beneath your fingers? A few more, maybe . . ?

I know that I dont like REALLY skinny guys. I mean, imagine, you've got your arms wrapped around some gorgeous guy, and you press yourself against his body and . . . ouch!!!!! A sticking out bone just hits into your left breast. A REAL mood killer that one!!!

I'm SURE there was something else I was going to say, but I seem to have lost myself to some certain pleasant memories . . .

Ah well. I'll get back to you all if I remamber what it was.

love

Gabrielle,

Some good points there but it still doesnt change what we have said. I dont think anyone ever said that ALL fat people choose to be that way. Your friend who cannot lose weight is like that for medical reasons as you specified. Thats unavoidable. Its not the people who are medically unable to get fit that we are talking about.

Also, you may well have no health problems now. I was clinically obese during my fat years and I was in relatively good health. I rarely got sick and I could do most things, even if i did get knackered quicker than most. The thing about weight and health problems is in later life. You have a much greater chance of heart disease and diabetes if you are overweight. Its long term damage youre doing.

I also dont think that any of us here want stick thin women with ribs jutting out. Conversely, most men dont want a woman who we cant get our arms round. Both extremes are bad. In the middle lies fitness, health and attractiveness.

PS, im still offically classed as overweight at the moment. I worked my arse off to lose over 3 stones in the last couple of years. Unless you have medical complications, anybody can lose their weight they want to.

PS, for those of you doubting Thanatos Jrs claims I suggest you look at the Slimmer of the year. She lost 10 stone, half her original body weight in a short time. Very impressive weight loss is attainable.

Besides, Thanatos is a Marine which means hes a cut above the rest anyway.

Thanks Balddog, at least someone understands that just because most aren't willing to work that hard at it, some can. I never said that the way I lost the weight was healthy, it was just my way. The second option I gave is the healthy way that a Doctor would recomend that you do. As for my diet, you have to stay with it, or else you will balloon back up and worse if you just let go when you are at the weight you want. And just to let you know, in the US Marines if you are over 12% body fat you are a lard ass and can be discharged without any benifets. We are the elite and that is why less than 1% of Americans can call themselves Marines. The rest just can't hack it. Like my diet, less than 1% of the world could probably do it,

As for you sheep out there, just remeber it's the worlds fault your fat. After all if someone never created Super-sized meals at McDonalds, you wouldn't be Super-sized Would you?

See it's Sony, nintendo, the TV, that make you fat. You have no choice in the matter, you couldn't get your fat @ss out of a chair and go for a walk every day, that would be impossable. And besides, if someone offers you food, you do have to eat it all.

I don't understand how you all could get through life blaming everyone else for your f*ckups and shortcomings instead of doing something about them. Fix yourselves don't blame others for you being a pile of SH!T.

I'm the pile of SH!T? Perfect? No, but closer to perfection than most of you could ever dream. You see the problem is most sheep look at themselves and see there limitations (OK this is going to sound cheezy). Limitations are things you set for yourself. No one else can stop you from doing something. Just to let you know, models are actually some of the ugliest girls in the world, they just make themselves attractive. If you would pick yourself up off your lazy @sses, yes even you who think you have, and change yourself into what you want to be it will happen.

I used to be a D average (just barely passing) student, because I decided I wanted something different I put some effort into it and now I am a Marine working for the National Security Agency and work with Top Secret information all the time, I do the work of 3 people with more experiance than me and I am in great shape to boot. And yes, I would say I am almost perfect, I've even had girls not want to continue dating me because "I am too perfect", their words not mine. They had nothing they could change about me so they felt useless in the relationship.

My 2 faults are, #1 caring about sheep to much and wanting better for them. And #2 spelling, it's my second biggest fault and I appologize for it

b) Claim they are perfectly happy and healthy but in private ALL they do is COMPLAIN about how fat they are, without doing a thing to change it.

This is the problem ... If you refuse to do some work to get rid of the problem (And it is a problem - for your heart, your joints etc) then you shouldn't complain. And in most cases it is your fault. You ate too much, you did no excercise, you forgot when to say no, you got fat... Simple.

Where'd you get those from?
You obviously don't walk down the high street very much! You hardly ever see any fat asses around. Goto America and they are swarming all over the place, dumb bastards too. I was at Disney land, and we were on some carbon fibre tree or something, half ride sort of thing. Any monkey could tell it was fake, until some dumb fat assed American said to his wife "Gee honey, is this tree real? I didn't know trees grew like this".
And this is from someone in the most powerful country on Earth....God help us.

Those numbers are from the ITV evening news from this weekend. Apparently some group is setting up a charity to, get this, protect fat people against discrimination and prejudice

Ill try and track down the offical govt figures online for you.

PS, the womens numbers were a little different. There were few classed as overweight but more classed as obese.

In the interest of fair play (yeah, I KNOW, y'all wouldn't expect THAT from me... ), the criteria by which "over-weight" is indicated has some glitches. While in my 30's, being 6' tall and 190 lbs., I was considered "overweight". I was also well under 10% body-fat (sometimes down to less than 5%). Hard to rationalize "over-weight" while appearing rather scrawny... HOWEVER, not everyone bicycles a minimum of 50 miles every day, and runs a couple hundred flights of stairs, in addition to the other regimens. In my 40's, I was coaching one of the best high school cross country teams in the US, and running workouts with them. Tables CAN be deceiving, BUT... if the tables say you are over-weight, and you are more than 20% body fat, you ARE!

{edit} ...UNLESS, you are seeking a carear as a Sumo wrestler!
