i was talking about the religion gcse to my friend and i mentioned the question about good christians, i then mentioned mother theresa, then the idiot said was mother theresa a christian?, since he is a fellow member of the site i we decided to post the question, so was mother theresa a christian?

    I am not debating religion. Catholicism is a denomination of the Christain religion, in the same way Baptists, CofE and Methodists are all denominations of Christianity.

    Catholics see themselves as Christians (I was one but have been chucked out:crying: ) Some Protestants say that Catholics are not Christians because some of the things they do (baptism at birth, confession, last rites) are not in the Bible. However some Protestant chuches in the UK, for instance the Church of England have baptism at birth, so some more fundamentalist Christians (such as the Baptists who only have adult baptism) would probably say they were not true Christians. However some fundamentalist Christians use Old Testament theology to justify things like the death penalty (an eye for an eye etc, even though some of the things Jesus said contradicts that (interestingly, George W Bush is a born again Christian, who believes in the death penalty, and war but not abortion.) I think Catholics are Christians.
