Hi guys , I'm one of the americian "gun nuts". It was actually going all right for a while before it fell apart into insults and accusations. "You'r a redneck", "we saved your ass". anyhow now you see the true essence of the gun control issue here. it is absoulutly polorizing. one side just can not understand the others reasoning. anyhow you seem to have a very nice board and i think I'll hang around if you don't mind.i've always enjoyed my trips to your country and had fun with the people I've met besides it's always nice to get another perspective on events.

We had no problem here. It was all quiet with some nice discussions and some respect for each other. Then this Team Ferret bloke comes along with his gun and suddenly the sites full of abusive Yanks who fell the need to own big guns to make up for what they must lack down their trousers.
You've turned this site into 'you' and 'us' with you trying to force your opinions on us. It wasn't like that before you came. This is why you've noticed this site is moderated because the mods are there to keep this a nice friendly site where we can all discuss thing reasonably.

This is by far NOT the most heavily modded site I've ever been on, try the GameFAQs boards for a place where you'll be modded just for being off-topic.
It's true that Team Ferret seemed to kick off an infusion of gun ownership threads, but if you read his thread "Mob Pyschology" you'll see he apologised for his initial aggression and even wonders where the rest of the US-based posters came from.
If anyone wants to use the site they must agree to abide by the rules that are in force here, even if you don't like them. If you feel you've been unfairly discriminated against then write to the Admin with the details, baiting the Mods and calling 'em Nazi's isn't exactly gonna boost your case.
I ain't just directing this at the US-based posters either, I've read some pretty dumb and pointless comments originating from this side of the Atlantic too.
So sure, it's a touchy subject, but that isn't gonna stop you from having a polite intelligent discussion about it is it?? After all, the only reason not to have an intelligent discussion is a lack of intelligence..........

You assume the right to post whatever you want, and that is not the case. We have libel laws, we have anti-racism laws, we have rules of the boards each of which MUST be moderated otherwise you could personally be sued as could thesite. before this "invasion" there were several/many intelligent american posters, who were reasonable in their arguments and entirely unlike the new additions to this site from across the pond.

Could one of you post a quick explanation of your reasons for the deletions that are so aggravating these people, just so we can get it settled?
Btw, as I see it, there are at least TWO gun questions:
1) Whether introducting guns into a gun-less country is wise;
2) Whether trying to remove guns from a gun-owning country is wise.
I think these deserve separate consideration as they have different practical aspects etc.
It's nothing to do with censorship. We've always had a range of people on these boards, with political opinions ranging from the far left to far right. This is fine.
What we can't accept is users who are overly abusive and threatening in their messages.
Consequently, some people were banned - those who turned up and immediately became abusive. As you can see for yourselves, other new users were allowed to stay as they seemed to be discussing points rationally without getting personal in their attacks.
Some threads were deleted, mainly because they had escalated into abusive flame wars.
And on a purely asthetic basis, having a dozen threads all covering ther same discussions is messy. Which is why Karla asked everyone to stick to the couple of topics already live.
If you don't like it, then I'm very sorry, but that's the way we operate.
