Please help me I would like to send a picture of myself to a friend but I do not have access to a webcam, digital camera or scanner, therefore could people please suggest an alternative method in which to carry out the task

Post it. Or use a friends scanner/camera. I don't know how you expect to get a pic into your PC without anything you mentioned.

    Yes.

    Get a camera.

    Take a photo.

    Get it developed.

Get walking with said photo in hand.

Either borrow one of the aforementioned digitising methods or send said friend a photo in the post. Easy.

The best solution to the problem is finding a scanner. If you're at uni, they'll have a computer centre with scanners.

    If this place does...

I think Boots and some of the other developers offer the ability to put your photos onto a CD at the time of developing.

Otherwise check out didigtal cameras in Argos - take your photo and return it within 16 days (assuming you can return digital cameras to Argos?? They don't allow it on Camcorders)

Other alternative is to draw a picture of yourself? Any good at drawing??

Although I seem to have missed the opportunity to reply here, I'm going to give my advice anyway. Take your film or negatives to Boots or somewhere similar. They can put your photos onto a CD for you. Then you can get the photos off the CD and send one to your friend.

In the amount of time it would take to post it to him/her.

    I apologise for being useless.

I'm not sure myself cos she said she couldn't send a pic and then said she wish she hadn't - I'm just being sympathetic cos I'm too full to move from my PC!! Too much chicken BBQ!!

Hmm, I am a bit confused now too.

When did you send the photo? When did you have the time to send the photo without using the internet?

So did we find out what happened?

I don't know why the sod I look at threads started by Jacaranda. Either they make no sense, they're pretty daft (like this one), or they just seem to be attention seeking/upping her post count.

And it just gets me annoyed. Every. Fucking. Time.

Sorry, I'm just wound up... lol

    Cheap alternative.

Goto your local library. Pay librarian 10p. Use photocopier to take a zap of your mug. Post photocopy to friend. Cheap. And it's all arty black & white. :p

I got another friend of mine to post me a picture of myself which I sent on to the friend I had met but the so called friend took one look at my photo and dropped me like a bag of potatoes

There see, there's an explanation for everything.

Why, jacaranda? Was this someone you'd just met on the net? And why would they drop you after looking at your picture?
