Congratulations, how do they manage it?

Actually we are leading country in windmill-industry technology orwhatsitcalled...

well we have for many years had a government which cares about the environment the people and the third world. ofcourse things are different now, with a new government and such. And the support to the third world will be less than it used to be.

Well India has been more successful than many African nations but that was only after a terrible partition, wars with Pakistan and a current standoff that was one of the potentially the most deadly conflicts in the world.

India was also an advanced nation before theEuropeans came, with a sophisitcated education and administration and with decent industry.

The African nations are almost entirely artificial, if I randomly drew some lines over western Europe and said it should be a nation, you don't think there would be problems.

With a note to aid few people understand the benefits that can acrue to the doner nation form giving even such a small protion as 0.7% GDP....

I seriously don't want that man to represent me.
    I despise him.

Nyrup could be tolerated to some degree, but Lykketoft is a man who I'd hate to see gain power in Denmark.

    To some degree.. come on!

Well aint it just always like that, i despise Anders Fogh, i really don't like that man!

I don't think i would be thrilled to see him as a leader, but i do agree with him in many cases, and what i really like about him is that hes speaks his mind, no wrapping things in here, i like that, but that can also be a problem i think...

But hes not typical Social democratic, he is a bit arrogant i think.

Could you two explain the policies of the two groups that you support, see if you can sell it?

Good test for your future political careers..........:D

H'e arrogant, mislead and a fucking snob.
Thinks he's the be all of Denmark, but in fact his opinions are worth as much as my used toilet paper.

If he gets elected, I hope not to live here.
I'd seriously hate being associated with him in any way.

Venstre (current ruling party of Denmark along with the Conservatives): Liberal, for privatisation, internationalisation and care a lot for international relations with other countries, now especially the contact with the US and UK has been tightened.

Social Democrats: Socialists, and for more public features for all. At the moment they're extremely anti-US.
  • Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
Like the idea of strong internationalism.

Don't like the privatisation so much, depends what is being privatised but often it is ideologically motivated bullshit....

There should always be public schools and hospitals.

But private schools do in general come out with better results (my class was number 5 in all of Denmark last year :D And I was the one with the highest grades:D:D), and most people would, if they had the choice, go under opration in a private hospital.

Im not having any political career :)

Well the idea behind the party is Democratic socialism

In easy terms The social democrats supports free and alot of wealthfare for everyone, equal rights and oppertunities for everyone, saying that all education should be free and run by the government.
Generelly we think that it is a common responsability to take care of the weak in the society thats why the social democrats make alot of having a public social network that can take care of the weak, the sick, the unemployed, threating the junkies and the alchoholic.

The party cares alot about the environment, saying that its okey to have huge environmental taxations on cars, on gas and other energy sources.

And here is where people whine, "we pay too much tax" "its too expensive to drive a car" blahh! what Symberlyne wrote about denmark being clean and nice really made me proud of being Danish and a socialdemokrat, because i think that those are some of the things that are good about how things are run here...

In the old days we were the working mans party, but thats kind of over now. And unfortunatly the common worker's support has been slowly moving towords other partys, (partys who make empty and stupid promises about tax stops and parties who have strong politics against immigrants  ) and thats sololy because of many years hard work from the social democrats, i mean the problems we have here in dk have becoime luxury problems... and the result have been that our politics have seemed old fashioned suddenly and then our leader did a poor job at the last election and now the opposition is in government :(

I hope it'll do, im not that good at making statements in english :)

Lately Pia Kjærsgård has been sided with your side of the spectrum on some stuff :p

Btw, Sf and Enhedslisten are not better. They just place their dislike on other groups.

The Dsu wich i am a member of (the social democratic youth party) are against grades in schools..

Yes well private schools do better because not everyone can afford to get in and those that can tebd to be the children of successful people i.e in todays economy: intelligent people.

Tellme: that was a good staement, your party sounds quite good....:)

They are, and thou i think its sad that we are not in office these days. It is for the better because people couldn't identify with us anymore and we tried to "renew" ourselves and everything went bad, then our party leader resignet (actually kinda forced to do so by our current party leader (another reason why i dont like him, its not the first time he stabbed someones back)

But all in all its healthy for us to be in opposition, then we can renew ourselves properly, because then were kind of forced to do so. And ofcourse its much more fun to critize than to defend :D

And ofcourse i forgot to say that we feel a big responsability in supporting the countries of the third world. As a certain other party doesn't :)

Grades are not the be all, but assurance of working braincells is always a good thing.
Though yes, to manage well in life first of all depends on logistics. Intelligence is just a major help.

Banning grades is so stupid. Already we start too late with the grades, completely dismissing them is a total joke.

    Too late?

We have tests for 7 year ols in the UK now, kids are permanently tested through school to the point where it is the sole purpose of teaching, it is awful.....
  • Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
Starting at the age of 14 is too late.
We come to gymnasium unprepared, and every teacher complains about missing qualifications.

When you compare our knowledge to most other European countries, you'll quickly see the difference.

Grading from the age of 7 isn't ideal, but surely from the age of 10, it should begin.

A personal review and statement from a teacher says so much more than a number...

Seriously i was a lazy fuck in school never did my homework but was good at the exams, wich resultet in good grades. Isn't it misleading? and there are so many people who have it the other way around! they do good in school but crash and burn at the exams! The enourmous preassure the students are under during the exams, the chasing of grades.... often it all comes down the the final exams!

A friend of mine is .2 short in his avarage to go into studying law at the university, and i know him, hes sure fit for it...

Another friend (the copenhagen county leader of Dsu) was up to the exams in history today, he drew The Paul schlüter period and got an 13, totally luck he says... i mean he knows all about that because he is political active and takes interests in it...
a review and statement would have said much more about him...

For subjects as Hirstory and languages of course you get a statement along with the grade.
But on a subject like maths, chemistry, and physichs you can get a right or wrong, and a grade to tell you how right or wrong you were.

Passing or non passing grades can make hell of an improvement.

I don't particularly see the need for gradin at the end of primary school.

Maybe more grading on assessed work rather than a concentration on exams?

In Gymnasium (sixth form/college), we get the overall grade and exam grade. So I can't see anything wrong in the grading system as such.
Though I would like another scale.
  • Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
Yes I agree that grading is necessary later for a comparison on ability when there are choices to be made about carrying on at school, going to university etc but why when everyone is going to the same stage of schooling next anyway. Consultation between primary and secondary teachers could help set initial ability sets or whatever..........
  • Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
They are currently trying to set up such programmes.
