3 PARTY SYSTEM

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
In a few recent posts there have been a couple of comments labbelling Liberal Democrats as not one of the main parties, I am absolutely intreagued why you see our political system as a 2 party system. Because unless I've been missinformed in the 6 /7 years of voting ther have always been 3 main parties in english politics.

Well it aint a wasted vote cos the lib dems are quite a bigger party than most people think. Im not sure about this (im sure LUKA can tell me) but didnt the Lib Dems came very close to the Tories in the last general election. Maybe wrong....

the Lib Dems looked to come close to the tories, because, well you are right they did, (This is mainly due to the stupid John Major regime, although I think thet should still be there, and the way that it looked close is the lib dems won a couple more seats but basically the tories handed their seats over to Labour) but I never said that I didn't acknowledge the lib dems as a 3rd part, but (and this is aimed mostly at the verbal-projective-missile throwing Luka) The Lib Dems would not be considered as in the hunt to become as powerful as the Conservatives or Labour, this is due to the fact that people have concentrated on the battle between blue and red for so long that yellow just seems to get ignored.

I have always said that I want people to be happy... even if I am not the one who is making them happy, its just how I feel when I know they are happy.
