The morning after pill on sale

What are everybody's opinions?

I think the strategy is totally wrong because it will not prevent underage pregnancies, as the pill will only be available to over-16s. I think the strategy is good, but the target age group too old.
This should be aimed at 10-15 year olds.
The price - 20pounds is too high.
I believe that this strategy will solve nothing for the government, because young teenage girls in deprived areas have limited access to this, and they are most at risk.
Any feedback?

I don't think any chemist (whatever you call someone who own a pharmacy?) would refuse to sell them OTC. That would seem a bit stupid, wouldn't it? "No, sorry, can't give you these, you shouldn't have been having sex in the first place."

    Right.

we had this dicussion somewhere else, sex or health, cant remember.

i agree it should be available to like 12 year olds plus, its not just over 16s that have unprotected sex and the government needs to realise this and not spend money on "its cool to be a virgin" campaigns which aint gonna solve anything. i think £20 is reasonable, i mean pregnancy tests are like £8 arent they? and by that time its too ltae to do anythign about it. if people have unprotected sex (they shouldnt, not saying they shouldnt have sex, they should just use condoms), then anyone should be able to get it,but it should not be a type of contraception, and the price should be a deterrant perhaps.

i apologise for any incoherency, become slightly intoxicated <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/smile.gif"> but thats still what i belive.

It's better to regret things you've done than things you haven't.

    Here's a solution.
If the girls and lads in deprived areas did something else apart from shag then they dont need to worry about not being old enough to get the pill and not being able to afford the £20
Failing that they can goto a family planning clinic or a GP and get the proper pill or condoms for free
