Revision of internet safety meeting rules...

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
I may be meeting someone I've known for a long time off the internet sometime in the future, and I was wondering what the rules are, as I read them in another thread but can't find it.

And it's not going to be a nip to town either so I can't drag friends along really I'll be travelling on train with 1 swithcover at birmingham. Bloody rail system is messed hehe. It's probably going to be faster to go by car but I can't get a lift. Nevermind. Just someone tell me what safety precautions I need to take. (and to the person I may be meeting sorry about this I trust you loads but better safe than sorry - I advise you to take the same precautions)

Meet in a public place, tell someone where you are goin, what time you will be back. If you got a mobile text them to say you are ok etc.
Don't give out your address or anythig like that.
Ps. Who is it? :p. lol

Just be precautious, sensible and use your common sense. Don't be overly paranoid, though, because that won't help. Other than that, perhaps do as Tweety suggested.

So you don't think that I should bring a double-barrelled shot gun when we meet for that beer (or three) in North Wales? ;)

Speak to the person on the phone first.
Once you've agreed a meeting place, stick to it, don't change it.
