A while ago I asked my boss from my old job - I worked on a stall selling jewellery - if I could have my job back. My younger sister also expressed an interest in working there. He spoke to my sister today while we were out shopping and asked her if I was still looking for work, or if SHE wanted a job.
I accepted the job back. My sister is pissed off because she wanted it. But what I want to know is, would it be legal for her to work there? She's only 14 years old. My boss seems to have known this as he's sort of said 'yes well...never mind' when she's mentioned her age.
What I'm trying to ask is, what would happen if my 14 year old sister took a job like this? Is it illegal? Would she have any rights? I've tried to tell her that it wouldn't be right for her to work there anyway, but she's still sulking with me.
