England you rock x

"and upon this day he cried, 'For God, Harry and St. George'"

Long live the law abiding citizens of the United Kingdom, and the rebel rockers of Springwell, Countesthorpe. Kiss my fat ass sadam and all you other subhuman scum :p

THIS, my friends, is a day for happiness and patriotism

*however i never said i agreed with having a monarchy!* :D

    beautiful Kat. :)

This is today and once again will pass by us largely unnoticed. why oh why we do not celebrate our country and the great things about it i will never understand. i for one will be raising a glass to him and our fine land, i hope you'll join me everyone's welcome especially fellow brits!

    St. George’s Day, 23 April

"Follow your spirit; and, upon this charge Cry "God for Harry! England and Saint George!".
    (Shakespeare - Henry V)

St. George was a knight whose chivalrous behaviour – protecting women, fighting evil, dependence on faith, helping the poor – has made him famous. The best known story of the Golden Legend is that by slaying a dragon he rescued a princess from being eaten and distributed his reward to the poor.

St. George lived during the reign of the Roman Emperor, Dioceletian, in the 3rd and 4th century. He served in the legions of Rome and had a reputation as a fearless officer and highly respected leader of men. St. George resigned his commission in the Roman army because he was expected to participate in pagan rituals, which went against his religion. The fight he put up for Christianity was to prove to be his undoing and St. George bravely endured unspeakable tortures before finally being beheaded in Nikomedia.

I love you England, more than life itself.

Even though St George never actually came to England, and is the Patron Saint of loads of other things, including cyphillis :p

Happy English day though, another reason to get wasted I suppose :thumb:

At least our Patron Saint stood up for something he believed in (and STI's for some reason!?!). Saint Patrick was a Welshman who was kidnapped whilst walking on the beach, and taken to Ireland.

    Happy St George's Day.
