Vietnam Veterans Against The War

Not all US troops are bad! These lot are the good guys a group of veterans from not just the Vietnam War but from all wars who campaign against senseless military adventures of the American government including the so called war on terrorism.

Here are some quotes from their website:
"We will continue to oppose senseless military adventures and to teach the real lessons of the Vietnam War. We will do all we can to prevent another generation from being put through a similar tragedy"

"As long as US foreign policy continues to be based on corporate exploitation and military domination, we will continue to make more enemies in the poor, underdeveloped countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America. We can achieve enduring security and lasting peace only through domestic and foreign policies based on social and economic justice. That will come about only when the American people demand it."

    No I didn't I posted their statement on the September 11th attacks last year! This current posting is to show that large numbers of ex US servicement oppose senseless wars and are prepared to speak out! And to show that it is not just communists, anarchists and Quakers who oppose war!

    that many ex troops have to deal with the horrors of war.
    You will also find that the MAJORITY of ex troops, although sickened by what they have seen and experienced still agreed with the aims of that war.

    Just because you find a few that claim to have been in the military (I'm not saying that they are lying, but there is no way to back it up) doesn't mean that there are a "large number" of former US service members that are opposed to US wars.

    On the contrary, many wish they could still be in. Even though they have seen war and do not wish to return for anything, they would go if their country called them. It's called Patriotism, a pride in something that you will never see SG because you don't have the ability too.

    They have been proved wrong though by the chaos and devastation caused in Afghanistan that killed more civilians than died in the terrorist attack on September 11th. If these soldiers had known the facts about the coming war with Afghanistan the most of them would have refused to fight! That war has left Afghanistan at the mercy of rival warlords and done nothing to remove the threat of terrorism as the continued suicide bombing in Israel prove.

    WhoWhere, most troops might have thought the Vietnam War was right but they have been proved wrong beyond doubt that the Vietnam war was wrong. Vietnam and neighbouring Cambodia were totally devastated by that war due to the dropping of more bombs than used by all sides in the Second World War and the poinsoning of the country side with deadly agent orange as well as attacks on villagers with weapons such as napalm! Over a million Vietnamese were also killed.

    The only reason that most troops are pro war is because they are never told the facts of why they are sent to war! They aren't told that most wars about US imperialism! They are lied to by corrupt American politician who only care about defending the interests of big business.
    Most of the time my unit trained to fight a war against peasants who dared to struggle against "American interests" in their homelands-specifically Nicaragua, El Salvador, and Guatemala.

    It has removed the threat of Al Qaeda towards the US/UK mainland, which I think it what they were after. I don't recall the Israeli issue being part of the plan at all.

    But then my post is based on fact - yours is blinded by hatred.
