"If the Baghdad regime moves from rhetoric to facts, it will only be because of the firm position shown by the international community and not only because the inspectors continue their work,".

I agree with that. In fact, if Saddam didn't get the impression from the peace movement, France, Germany and that waffle country that we weren't serious about him complying with the UN resolutions, he might have backed down and shown the UN where he destroyed the weapons he was known to have in the early 90's.

you know its becoming increasingly necessary to point out to you that your posts are irrelevant pnj. You post nothing that all of us dont see or hear for ourselves on CNN or any other major media day in and day out.

Please post something of your own thinking or kindly leave off posting. Thanks

The debate is: if the West appeared to be united in making Saddam comply, would he have complied?

It's like playing poker. You don't show your cards to everyone and you do bluff. Instead, last week Saddam claimed the peace movement as an Iraqi victory...all while the UN was trying to get him to comply. If he feels he can shape public opinion, why should he comply. That's the debate.

Perhaps Jose Maria Aznar should consider uniting his position with the position of the vast overwhelming majority of his own country before talking about "uniting the West." The way I see it is that the West is going to be uniting in the very near future, against the United States and Israel - once sleeze like Tony Blair and Jose Maria Aznar are thrown out of office by the majority of their own people. LOL Tony Blair thinks he has trouble at home now! He thinks its hard to get a UN resolution now! Wait until Israel cracks down full throttle on the Palestinians and the neocons start crowing about attacking Iran, Saudi Arabia, Libya, Somalia, the Palestinian Authority, Pakistan, Sudan et cetera. Wait until the Moslem minorities throughout Britain that he has been let in by the thousands go on a massive killing spree like we have never seen before. Wait until that economy falls into the black hole of no return.

And yet Heyman, he doesn't care.

Now, the man at the bait shop assured me that this was perfect bait for attracting the Aladdin fish. Here, fishy, fishy.
