Id much rather be single on Valentines day, better to have noone to share your heart than have it broken.
Valentines is about romance and not just gifts.
Its much better to do something romantic than just spend a fortune on some present,
You could bring her for a surprise picnic, light a candle, and write her a poem as you gaze into her eyes. Then produce something special to her that means something to your relationship. Then take out a single red rose present her with this and tell her how she means the world to you and you love her!And finish with you sweeping her in your arms to a long hard passionate kiss It costs basically nothing and is a lot more romantic then just gifts- Valentines is about romance remember that! :cool:

:yes: I agree with you there. I'd much rather spend a romantic night in or go for a nice meal, than buy each other pressies.
I dont know what im gonna do for Valentines day this year, my boyfriend wont be around as he'll be in an army camp somewhere....tho hopefully he's got a few days leave a few days after, so itll be v nice to see him again.
Valentines day has become so bloody commercialised!!the price of flowers n chocs n anything else slightly romantic goes up in price by sooooo much!! I think its much more romantic to be given a present on a random day of the year, because your other half felt like being romantic, not on a single day cos its become tradition to be romantic on one day of the year!

well why does romance have to be shown on that paticular day? why can't couples just make their own day to have an extra romance? ya know, diy, not have some silly holiday telling them when to make eachother feel special.
I looked on my calendar and as opposed to last year when it was a Sunday (I think), it is a Friday this year. Which means school. Cue my non-single friends bringing in what so-and-so has bought them. I swear, if I have to have one more comment of, "Why don't you get a boyfriend?" aimed at me, I will vomit over their presents and throw them out of the window. Extreme, perhaps, but hey.
I'm going out on that day anyway. Myself and all single friends (coming to 2 guys and about 6 girls) are going to just go out and have fun. We're avoiding restaurants (no wish to see couples feeding each other bits of bread) and just having a laugh. Although one of the lads is muttering something about Silly String to spray on unsuspecting couples, and much as I should oppose it, it seems fun...

I can't even remember what we did last year! I think maybe he cooked me dinner.
The worst thing is that at my school every time Valentines day comes around we have a day called 'Carnation Day' where people pay a pound for every carnation they want to send to anyone within the school and they get a little card to write a message on.
It just ends up as a popularity contest and people end up spending a tenner on sending one to their mates who send them one back in an attempt to look like they're actually fancied.
I reckon Carnation day has the biggest absentee rating of the year, as people don't want to suffer the embarassment of getting less than 6 carnations.
The worst thing is I have been appointed to organise it for my house this year, which means taking everyones little cards in and 'censoring' them! :eek2: should be funny though. I get to read all the dodgy messages and then take the piss out of everyone
