Someone bring up a picture of their live webcam on their screen, and point their webcam at it.

    It's mad, I tells ye.

Pink???? LOL I can explain that, and the green stripey wallpaper.
The shot is taken with a webcam, the green stripes are an artifact from compressing the image. The wallpaper is plain.
As for the pinkness - that's caused by the webcam trying to compensate for the mixed lighting in the room. The main ceiling light has an energy saving flourecent bulb, as does the desk lamp just above the computer, pointing at the wall behind the monitor. To the left is a halogen desk light. The webcam has tried to balance the lighting colours. The halogen light gives out a pale yellowish light, whereas the main light and other desklight give out green light (in fact all flourescent lights give out green light). To compensate for the green, the webcam has added its opposite colour - magenta, which is why everything has a pink colour cast.

I know, you don't believe me about the green flourescent lights. But the human eye compensates for the colour casts. If you don't believe me then look at photos of buildings taken at night. More often than not no compensating filters have been used, and what colour do flourescent lights show as? - green!
Trust me, I know all this crap because I used to do some freelance photography. :)

    Cheers :D

But, I wish I had OS X...it's Linux with the 'Aqua' theme.

WinME  you have my sympathy (and respect for being restrained and not killing it...)

If it's just a screenshot you want, rather than your whole desk, just press the Print Screen key on your keyboard. Now open a photo editing program, make a New image, then click Paste, and then Save As to save the picture of your screen. To post it here you will need to resize it to make it smaller, and save it as a .jpg image.
    Was that too technical???
