    Some slang words I use are:

    Bredrin.....................(friend)
    Link.........................(meet)
    Manz.......................(refering to oneself, or others, e.g. 'Manz is going home')
    Seen seen seen.........(Showing understanding, as in 'I see')
    Feck........................(Fuck)
    etc (I can't think of any others).

    I only use these works to people who use them when talking to me, otherwise, I'm quite straight talking.

    We've loads of stupid slang words in Dublin:

    deadly = brilliant or wicked
    story? = can mean anything along the lines of hi, how are you etc :rolleyes:
    locked = really, really drunk
    blower = phone
    she calved = she had her baby
    ride/ he rode her = sex
    he met her = he snogged/kissed her

    feck, cant think of any others. They are some of the ones I use, but other people prob dont.
    Oh, and loads of people put Ted at the end of sentences, like Dougal in father.
    Cant think of anymore now ted.

    People who aren't from around Reading use the word "Pikey" to mean a gypsy or something don't they? Round here it is used to refer to a certain type of person... not sure how to explain it tho- would any other Reading-ers on the boards care to explain?

    This might seem like a strange question but WHY is it called that? What is the origin of this expression? I saw it on a poster in a bar toilet the other night on an advert for WKD or something but didn't "get" it.

    It's kinda self explanitory.
