spotty bum :( ...

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
Ive got abit of an embarrsing probelm really :(, ever since i can rememeber ive always had a spotty bum, even from a young age,and now that im 18 and in a serious relationship wiv my 2year boyfriend, im really consious of my backside.
I only went to the doctors the other week, and she gave me some cream to put on them, she said the spots werent deep so she gave me some cream, ive started using the cream, 3 days i took it morning and night, i noticed that they started making my spots even bigger and make them even redder?? i dont know what i can do?? i dont take the cream anymore, because it makes the spots even worser:(
when i was at the doctors i asked the lady doctor about using anti-biodtics, but because im on the pill she advised me not to take it because it doesnt make the pill affective!
i tried the sun bed in the summer, and it did kind of helped because it dried up the spots?
when i went on holiday last year, the sun dried them up and made my bum smooth again but i was really paroniod and consious when bending over, because it would show my bum, and i have a few scars of my bum.I also had to wear shorts or a skirt wheever i went, even laying down on the sand!
(sorry this is so long by the way)..
i think because i am so worried its causing a problem with me and my boyfriend's sex life:( and i am so paronid and i dont know what else to do!?
can anyone help me on this matter, or tell me im a weirdo, APPART FROM MY MINOR PROBLEM IM FINE :)
im just really emabarssed :( thanks xx

First of all, dont be embarassed :)

You said you used the cream for 3 days and it made them bigger, maybe you need to give the cream more of a chance to work, 3 days isnt that long. Maybe that particular type of cream will make them worse before it makes them better. If not, then make an other appointment to see the doc and maybe they can give you another type to try.

As for your problem with your boyfriend, you've been together for 2 years and you've had the spots longer than that, if they were a problem to him then he wouldnt have stuck around that long now would he :)

thanku for replying...maybe ur right, i do put on the cream when i feel like it really, i should put on morning and night and i havnt really done that for a good 2weeks yet, so i will, BUT if that doesnt work ill have to go back to the doctors again, but it is really imbarssing going to the doctors :(
yes im surprised my boyfriend stayed around this long :) i think he knows i have got a spotty bum but his not that kind of person to tell you and hurt your feelings, which is probably a good thing really! but il give the cream two weeks, and if nothing happens il go back to the doctors! thanks for replying anyway, because i havnt really told anyone about it,and i felt i needed to get it of my chest! so thankyou xx

No need to thank me :)

I really do think you need to give the cream a chance, and if it doesnt then dont be embarassed about going to see the doctor. I know it's a cliche but doctors do see things like that all the time. Think about it this way, you'll be with the doctor for about 5 minutes and then you'll be out the door and they'll be thinking about their next patient and you'll be forgotten.

Why dont you try talking to your boyfriend about your insecurities, tell him how you feel, I bet he hasnt even noticed it or if he has then heprobably didnt think that it was a problem and thats why he's not mentioned it. I was really paranoid about about my body, big bum, wobbly tummy, all the usual stuff and instead of hiding it from my boyfriend, I decided to tell him and he made me feel really good about myself and now the one thing I hated (my arse!) is now my boyfriends fave bit of my body and thats given me more confidence.

Anyway, Im rambling on sorry! Good Luck honey :)

Yeah, don't be embarassed about it, I'm sure doctors have seen much much worse! I had to go to the docs with a rash in a slightly embarassing place (!), and she gave me cream, and it took a good couple of weeks to work. I know it seems really embarassing at the time, but if your doc is good they will put you at ease. If you feel uncomfortable, maybe you could try a different doctor? Good luck, Tates xxx ;)

If the spots are still getting worse, go back to the doctor. You can get antibiotic cream instead of tablets, which has no effect on the pill at all. If that doesn't work, there are other things to try. It can take a few weeks for things to take effect, so you have to be patient. It may also help to wear looser clothes, and avoid synthetic fabrics for a while. Stick to cotton underwear too, it's less sweaty.

if my gf had a spotty bum i wouldnt care at all! i swear. if hes been with you for two years then that wont matter, if it does then there are other problems, but it seems that there arent so its kool. I mean, some things might bother me, for eg if she got her tongue pierced, but shes her own woman, so i wont stop her, ill tell her i dont like it but i would still love her all the same :)

    Spots

I used to have really bad spots and Acne on my face when I was in last few years at school. Nothing would clear it up. I went to a specialist at a local hospital who prescribed a drug called Roacutaine. I was on it for about 6-8 weeks I think and it was not nice for my skin or lips. Dried everything up. BUT..... they went and never came back, you could never tell I used to have bad spots etc now.

The Doc said its not good for pregnant women etc so I don't know how it effects the pill etc. But I'm sure if your bf's commited he won't mind using a sleeve for a while! Ask your doc about it!

hi there.just to let you know you are not alone with this problem i have the same as you,
and for longer, maybe. you have very sensitive skin like me and anything that rubs your skin gives you a spot and that turns into a boil. doctor told me i need to wash more,
i shower every day and use a Luther, if I wash any more ill drowned so it don't matter how hard or how long or how many times you wash it wont go away. creams and anti-biotic may work for bit and reduce the spot but when they run out they come back
i cant use theme for the rest off my life, if you use ati-biotics for to long time your body will become immune to them and when you are sick they wont work.speck to your doctor about long term use and side effects... OK the good news you are more cleaner than most people be proud of that... things to try may help loose clothing top half.get some cycling shorts undies ,marks and Spencer do theme going cheep at the moment my spots have reduced a lot and i don't get any more boils your skin can breath a lot better iv had the best undies money can buy and i still had a spoty bum and boils the worst was between my legs. my wife got the shorts by chance and she noticed my bum was clearing up. get some dettol soup antibacterial will help and a luther to wash with

hope this will be of help to you and all that read this..

best wishes and good luck ..

    Jim..

    Hey Jim,

Just to say it's worth checking how a thread is before replying (this one is from 2002) - especially if you've come across it in google.

So I'll just close this now.
