i have never been to russia but would love to go. i was wondering if anybody else has ever been and could point out any highlights?

    Im next door in Finland and my uni had quite a few trips although I never went myself.

    Most areas are 'tourist traps' if you dont speak Russian you'll be charged lots more for things like museum entrance fees.

    dont go during Novemeber to March as its winter and bloody freezing! Think around -20oc and you'll be right. They often go through energy problems which means lack of heating, hot water etc.

    The only place ive been where my nostril hairs froze as i was breathing :lol: Its such a cool feeling...:D

    Its a great place...I went on a school trip tho so didnt get to see much of the real russia..Moscow is great and the people are generally nice except for the old women who are terrifying.
