Someone explain why socialism is a relevant or applicable ideology.

I want to know why economic inequality in a society should be eliminated. Why are such actions important?

Why should the state own large parts of the economy? Why is this preferable over private ownership of the means of production?

Most people are very poor (certainly in comparitive terms and quite possibly in absolute terms) some people are rich.

There is enough in the world to provide a good standard of living for everyone so why not?

The advancement of society has been largely about increaing equality, I would say that it is always relevant..........

Why? Why is a difference between rich and poor wrong?

Why does any government need to own lots of industry?

Why more of this 'moral' bullshit?

Seriously, apart from any 'ethical' viewpoint, why is the need to eliminate inequality necessary? Because the poor will envy the rich? Because it may lead to conflict within society?

    What?
