Is it okay to engage in a war to enforce those resolutions but do nothing about the ones concerning Israel? Why should Iraq have given up its 'sovereignty'? Aren't they just "resolutions" and not "laws"?

The UN's rights? None. They just passed a resolution. It was the coalition of nations that had a right to go to the aid of a sovereign nation and force Iraq to remove itself. Just as they did. The UN resolutions are nice in that they show widespread support for the action. They aren't necessary. Now, if Jordan, Egypt or Syria want the territory that was previously theirs, they should be the ones negotiating with Israel, not Arafat. :)

Reduced the issue down to simple form, did you not?

    My compliments...
