Do you get judged?

I'm constantly getting judged for the type of music I listen to.
And quite honestly, I'm sick of it.
For example, I listen to Black metal and Thrash metal, and my work colleagues constantly jab at me saying that I worship the devil and "if I listen to anymore of that crap, I may axe someone."
Just because I listen to darker sounding stuff, doesn't mean I'm gonna go on a murderous rampage. I'm quite a nice person to be honest.
Does anyone else get this?

Individuality is what makes people so amazing. Don't be ashamed of it, show it and be proud of it!
All stereotypes lazy people like to use. This site is proof that the music that you listen, the clothes you wear, the company you keep has nothing to do with being able to talk to and socialise with one another.
I went back to college 7 years ago and what surprised me is that everyone seemed to define people by the type of music they listen to now. It was quite weird. I think we're entering a new era of trendsetting - when I was young it was all about the people you hung out with. Which is just as bad I guess, defining ourselves by the clique we socialise best with.
It is awesome that you listen to the type of music that you do, and that you define yourself as a nice person. Never let other people define what you are because it's just a way of them setting their dominance over you. Ignore it, don't let it get you angry, next time they confront you turn your music up to blot out their voices, shrug your shoulders and move on - as soon as they lose that control then you are free
This shit happens though. I made a habit of playing along and telling people about my latest devil worshiping session, but in the most sarcastic voice I could muster up. They soon realised I don't give a shit and so neither should they. Show them how much of a badass you are and they'll warm to you, worked for me.
