Divorce

Hello,I have applied for divorce from my ex of 3 years.
Once we are divorced (im representing myself) can I then apply for a financial order to stop her making a financial claim in future (is that how it works)
Many thanks,
LB

I'm afraid we're not legal experts here so I'm not sure about the answer to your question :chin:
Hopefully we can point you in the right direction to get an answer though!
Directgov have some overview info on the divorce process which could be useful to read, in particular this section on Money and property which includes some info on fincancial orders: https://www.gov.uk/money-property-when-relationship-ends
You can also speak to your local CAB for free advice: http://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/index/getadvice.htm
They also have comprehensive advice about divorce on their adviceguide website: http://www.adviceguide.org.uk/england/relationships_e/relationships_relationship_problems_e/ending_a_marriage.htm#h_divorce
All the best with the process, have you got friends or family that you can lean on?
We're here if you need to talk
