Additional information in support of your application

Im filling out a job application which is pretty much just, state your qualifications, employment history, hobbies, references, no CV is needed.

But there's one section which says 'Additional information in support of your application
(Continue on a separate sheet if necessary)'

Ive written a small piece about how i fit the job description and person spec with the work ive done previously but i dont really know what theyre looking for here? Just brief bullet points or a sort of personal statement?
