Want to take part in a new documentary?

A new documentary about sex in the 21st century is being prepared for the BBC. Here are the details:

Wall to Wall Television, makers of the critically acclaimed series 1940’s House, are making a major landmark documentary series for BBC1 that will explore present day sexual attitudes and behaviour.

How do we learn about sex? How do we decide when is the best time to begin our sex lives? What is it like being in love for the first time? How do you talk to your Mum and Dad about sex? Are you a virgin and curious or are you planning to wait for someone special? Do you feel like you’ll be with your current partner forever?

We are keen to explore the beginnings of sexual awareness, the rules of dating and what it is like for a family when teenagers start new relationships. BBC1 is searching for teenagers and young couples whose families are willing to open up their homes and their day-to-day lives to cameras.

We would like to talk to young people and their parents about the decisions and issues involved in learning about sex, growing up, establishing romantic relationships and losing your virginity.

Love in the 21st Century is allied to the most extensive national survey to date of British sexual attitudes and behaviour. The series will place sex firmly in the context of the family – in all its 21st Century guises – to examine the changing role that sex plays in all our lives. If you have ever been intimidated by all the misleading facts and figures about sex we are daily bombarded with, then this is the series for you. The survey on which the series is based blows the rest away by its sheer breadth and scale. With 12,000 anonymous and randomly selected people taking part this is, for once, the truly accurate story of Britain and sex. We are interested in the norms rather than the extremes.

If you are interested in finding out more about the series, please contact Cate on 0207 241 9217 or email cate.hall@walltowall.co.uk

I think it's a good idea to present the true facts about young people today to the older generations, too many people have misconceptions about what actually goes on. I haven't got anything I could say because I've never even had a boyfriend, otherwise I might consider it.
