    My understanding is that at least 50% of politics is simply getting the debate heard. Everyone in the UK for example always land value tax or something else equally sensible - which are actually raised as points every week.

    But there's only so much time for stuff, most weeks there might be 30+ things on the list in the UK, but only 3 or 4 are actually debated.

    So for the one time it does get debated, if it doesn't get through, better wait probably another 5 or 6 years.
