I'm not sure I would do dinner either, given what's happened. Maybe a coffee to discuss Sodbaby but that's about it. But I can understand why other people might be able to, if things were more of an amicable drifting of ways.

But anyone who's expecting their partner to be friends with their ex is being extremely unrealistic. And I'm not sure what all this talk of "trust" is either; they fucked for years, they obviously liked each other enough to be a couple for years, of course there's still a danger sign if they're too friendly.

My experience is broadly the same as Arctic's. I think Helen makes some insightful points though, sometimes you need to look at the bigger picture...
