The 'look what I've made' 2013 thread

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
Here is a thread for you to post all those gorgeous things you have been making.

So far this year I've barely knitted but I've been sewing lots.

I've made lots of bunting, pincushions, needle cases, another knitting needle roll, a draught excluder (with a zip!), drawstring bags, a notebook cover and 10 countries flags for my Eurovision Song Contest bunting for my gay best friend who loves Eurovision, 10 countries down, 29 more to go.

Here's the knitting neele roll I made last night:

Oh do you have a knitting roll pattern? You should put up the pic of the bunting you made for me! :)

I've very very nearly finished my first jumper - I've got about 5 rows left and then just need to sew it all up and block it. But first I need to find something to block it on.

I only give them to people in my immediate family (and Boy) unless it's something special (I.e. The pay it forward thing on Facebook) or they're paying for the yarn.

I don't have a pattern as I kind of made it up as I went along. But there are lots available for free online if you have a search.

Because I spoil her rotten, here is Fiend's valentine's day pressie (she got it early because she looked at the pattern so there was no surprise):

Ask and ye may well recieve. I can't knit for myself all the time, and I'm not sure riotkitten would really appreciate it. He prefers the making bit.

The jumper got royally f'ed up when I started to sew it all up, so I'm waiting for mamariot, or someone else to give me a hand.

I'm starting to learn crochet so I might end up with weird surplus 70s style blankets.

My next creative venture is one I'm hoping to patent so its all very hush hush atm! :P

I found a knitted nipple enhancer - http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/the-nipple-project - but no crochet ones that I could find so maybe that's a new idea :chin:

Crochet nipple tassles! beautiful lace ones would be awesome...not that they'd get much use asides the occasional shimmy in front of a mirror but its a great idea none the less!

Some really cool things in this thread. I can see you guys really enjoy being creative!
I made an exploding box card over the weekend.
Although the picture doesn't show the 'explosion' very well. I may make a video soon to demonstrate that.

I'm so jealous of your colorwork skills! Every time I attempt, it is either too tight, too loose and I just get really mad, crumple it up and throw it away :p

Too tight in what way? Colourwork is, by nature, not very stretchy. I tend to over compensate with my floats so it has a bit more give.

Also - you can't really tell from the picture but the little batman hat was quite bunchy from where I pulled them too tight. Practice. Lots of.

I think it might be more a problem of I just don't like the lack of give. I like stretchy! Then when I overcompensate with the floats, I'm left with the really loose and shitty stitch at the beginning/end of the certain color. I don't think I've knit a thing all year because I've been attempting the tortoise and hare sweater, I even learned to two hand knit for it. I'd get about 10 inches done (that's what she said) then hate it and frog it, redo, hate it... this week I've finally said fuck it and have just started a one color top now :p

Fuck the top, but I will learn it for the the bird socks

Your socks are really cute too. Great pattern and color!
