Onepiece sewing project

So, lets say hypothetically I decided that a good use for my dark nights and new sewing machine was trying to make myself one of those ridiculous one piece things. Justifying it to myself by saying it would be very useful for when there are power cuts and we lose all heat and lecky.
I'm thinking the obvious starting points would be to get a pattern - so far no luck with finding one of those.
Then I'd need fabric. Struggling with that too. It might be description issue, because I assume it's possible to buy the kind of fabric that you make hoodies etc out of, but I can't find any one line.
From there on it would be easy - right?
(I'm aware the answer to the last one is no).
As a starting point - can anyone help with where I might be able to find suitable fabric? I'm going to risk saying that I can manage without a pattern if one really doesn't exist.
I'm assuming no one has tried anything similar?

Also esty has one, but you have to buy it.
Maybe it's me not using the right description - when I say onesie, I was thinking of the adult version of a baby romper suit thing - like one of these http://www.etsy.com/listing/113722710/adult-onesie-jumpsuit-one-piece-all-in?ref=sr_gallery_29&ga_search_type=all&ga_includes%5B0%5D=tags&ga_search_query=onesie&ga_facet=onesie&ga_includes%5B%5D=tags&ga_view_type=gallery
I'm potentially feeling brave enough to let the engineer in me try and work out a pattern, if I can find the fabric. Which I can't believe is as hard as I am making it.

Am a mutant, so likely will have to adjust the body length on whatever I do. Being 5'8" with a 29" (if I'm being generous) inside leg doesn't make for normal stuff fitting too well.
I get mine from here and the quality and service is fab, even if the colours are a little limited:

For a pattern, try:
This?
That would be why I was struggling to find fabric. Will have a think on colours and get it all ordered up ready to start in the new year. Don't think this is a project that's going to travel well.
