Writer' & Artists' Yearbook 2005 - This book has a lot of useful tips and hints. What to do/ not to do, examples, what publishers are looking for; for example, did you know that publishers like to see double spacing in your writing, or that you could publish by yourself (but you might be better going to a literacy agent- they can sometimes get the best deal). It also talks about some publishers, and has listings.

Did you know you can use the old fashioned way of copy righting things; stories, poems, sketches.
Make a copy of it and send it recorded delivery to yourself and never open it. Then if any disputes come up you can present it as evidence, that it was your idea. xx
