ARTS DEVELOPMENT WORKER Supported by The Rank Foundation Youth Apprentice Programme

Job Title: Arts Development Worker
Application Closing Date: 4th June 2012
Interviews: 25th June 2012
Start Date: Early September 2012
Contract: 3 Years Reviewed Annually
Training: The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Informal and Community Education (Youthwork) Diploma with possible continuation to degree level as part of the job role.
Salary: 19-21K.

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual with a passion for the arts, which they are keen to pass on to young people.

This role requires a self-starter – someone who will go out and make things happen. They will need to go out to our network of youth clubs and their communities to deliver activities that interest and inspire young people. The activities could be from any corner of the arts world – from dance to film to crafts to music – so long as they are varied and deliver the aim of developing a strong program of arts activities which reaches young people who we do not currently engage, giving them opportunities to realise their potential.

The role will entail visiting our clubs and running sessions with 11-25yr olds, as well as devising and managing programmes and events that bring clubs together to work together or compete. The successful candidate will also work closely with our team to create new arts projects, apply for funding, generate and maintain partnerships with arts groups/organisations, and generally exude a passion and energy for the arts which will inspire the charity’s work.

The successful candidate will be expected to have some sort of arts background but passion for the arts and strong project management skills will be the key to securing the role.
