Hey there and welcome to the boards

I started volunteering about 4 years ago now and I haven't stopped since!

Here is a great article on theSite.org about volunteering - http://thesite.org/workandstudy/volunteering/volunteeringbasics/volunteerfaq

Personally, I think the key is finding something that you really relate to and really enjoy.

Have you come across the do-it website - http://www.do-it.org.uk/
It has loads of volunteering opportunities and that's how I found some opportunities myself! You can search by interest and post code to really narrow down your results.

    Also check out v-inspired - http://vinspired.com/
You can record your volunteering experiences here (separately from your voluntary role) and get a certificate for 50hours or volunteering or 100hours. You can also search for volunteering opportunities on their site.

Maybe you could also blog about your volunteering experiences! - http://thesite.org/workandstudy/volunteering/casestudies/thevolunteerblogger

Sorry there is so much information in this post and so many links - let me know if there is anything I can clarify!

    :)
