What are "impacted" wisdom teeth?

I went to the dentist today and she noticed that I had teeth coming through and was asked if they're causing any problems. Aside from pain, they seem to be ok. She mentioned that they're impacted. What does this mean?

It means they're coming in at an angle instead of straight up in line with the rest of your teeth. It can cause trouble in some people.

    Hi Melian

    Some *hug*s for you tonight.

Toothache can be so uncomfortable sometimes.

There is some more info on the NHS website regarding Impacted Wisdom Teeth. Check it out for some more guidance.

I had impacted wisdom teeth so I got them removed. It wasn't nearly as painful as people make out (at least not in my experience).
