Anyone got any recomendations in terms of good sites? Tips? Do's and don'ts?

    My number one tip - let Franki rewrite your profile for you.

    Also, when Franki finds her tips about writing messages to people, follow those too. It turns out she's right, and my approach to reading messages was pretty much exactly as she says. Generic ones get completely ignored, ones that show you've actually looked at my profile, I may actually reply to.

    Sounds like Franki is the dating whizz then! I'm off work sick today so I might have a look at writing a profile, though that doesn't sound like it will be easy after skimming through those links Franki put up!

    Have a search on here for the old thread - it's got some pretty good tips in it.

    The hardest part is getting a profile started and rough answers to the questions. Then you can post it up here and we can tweak it for you.

    Haha okay just found that thread. Looks like it kicked off abit with mr ferrari. One bit that made me laugh, artic roll saying, "your profile is meant to say, "look at me, I'm great". Its not for you to witter on about your feet" haha.

    I've always wondered, do girls contact guys on these things? Or is it like being in the flesh where the bloke mostly does all the first contact shit.
    I've looked at a site before out of curiosity but it all seemed a bit cringey? Whats all this winking malarkey about? Wouldn't it better to just message someone?

    They removed that because it was less than useless.

    I message guys actually more than I get messaged, nowadays (neither of which is overly often, it just tends to be when I'm feeling a bit miserable). But you'll find that as a guy, you'll almost certainly be sending out a lot, lot more than you'll be receiving, even if your profile is 100% perfect, because the numbers are vastly skewed in the ladies' favour.

    I normally ignore people like that...

    I've had several people ask me out on a date within 20 mins of talking which has weirded me out. But IMO Okcupid is pretty good...
