    Hey Luci_UK

To be honest, I don't know too much about getting into the modeling industry, but it can be competitive and hard to get into, so it's great that you are trying to find out the best way to do this first. Was there a specific type of modeling you wanted to do?

There is some information about how to get into fashion modeling on the direct.gov website which you can read here.

If you are looking for extra money at the moment, you might also want to think about getting a part-time job in retail or something similar? There is another discussion at the moment about finding work and about Christmas jobs, which may be worth looking at.

Hope this helps, and good luck with it :thumb:

I don't know much about it, but never send money to an agency. You should never have to pay for representation except in commission, and that's a really common scam.

I'm not sure that's true; a lot of the things that go around for models are buyouts for commercials (fixed-pay for unlimited use of your image) or catalogues and there's much less work than there are people to do it. It's really not dissimilar to acting in that respect.

Modeling isn't a get rich quick thing. You have to put a lot of work and time into it, and face a lot of rejection to even get 1 shoot.

Instead of asking people on here, have a search on the internet and find the information yourself. Search for 'key words' in what sort of modelling your wanting to do.

And tell your parents your wanting to do something in catalogue modelling and see if they can help you :)

    Lol @ easy money.

I think you've got modelling confused with escorting. Unless you're Adriana Lima of course!

Yeah, because putting random words into google won't just bring up a list of shysters and charlatans

    Sadly true...

Anyhow, asking for advice here was a really good thing for Luci to do. Gonna close this now :)
