I chatted to some TheSite volunteers last night about their experience of prejudice towards LGBT young people and there were some pretty upsetting stories in the mix.

What kind of issues do you feel still need to be addressed in this day and age?

I did wonder what was going on! As much as I love the gays, that purple theme sucks balls.

I think its just a thing about generations to be honest. Its still a fairly new thing really, as soon as the young generation become the old generation I think and hope it will be a fairly accepting world.

Its just hard for the older generation because they didn't grow up with this sort of stuff.

I like the idea of Spirit Day, my church have been celebrating it.

Young people are still cruel to people who are different; a Canadian 15-year-old committed suicide after anti-gay bullying last week.

We can't become complacent, we need to keep educating.
